  1. Losing Burnes and Woodruff in one offseason is rough. I would have preferred to ride out the year with Burnes and let him leave in free agency. I don't know anything about the players we got in return other than the 10 minutes I just spent reading up on them. Ortiz is most likely a better bet to be a long term solution at SS than Turang. Hall seems like he could stick in the bullpen and at the very least be a decent member of the shuttle squad which we need since a lot of our pen isn't going to have options. Bummer on Ethan Small. What a mess that turned out to be. I'm hoping they add some SP options here. I already wasn't too excited about Rea and Ross being the likely 4th and 5th guys in the rotation to start the year.
  2. lol that was completely painless. will be interesting to see if counsell presses his luck and runs him out to face schwarber to start next inning
  3. This is an interesting decision from Counsell. I'm skeptical.

I haven't lived in Wisconsin since 2003, but I did go to Balistreri's in tosa a couple years ago with my brother in law and I really liked it.
  5. He probably falls into that 2-3 year deal for 6-8 million per year bucket doesn't he? Sample is small, but just look at the stuff. He's definitely worked his way into pitching the very back end of games for this team. You could easily argue he's our 2nd best reliever. I think that's too high. Justin Wilson got 2 years $10mm. I think that's the absolute top end of what Pomeranz would get. I'm thinking he's more likely in the 1 year $4mm range. As another poster mentioned, if a team gives him a chance to start that may sway him.
  6. Pomeranz with the Brewers (1 start) 2.35 ERA, 3.02 FIP, 42.4 K% in 15.1 IP Pomeranz as a reliever in 2019 1.53 ERA, 1.75 FIP, 46.2 K% in 17.2 IP If he continues to pitch like this down the stretch (and hopefully into the playoffs) it will be interesting to see what his market is like in free agency.
  7. I agree with this for the most part. Had to basically get in the August trade acquisitions in this month too because they eliminated the waiver deadline. Sure, I wish they did more but the only guy that got traded who was in my "realistic" SP target group was Roark.
  8. I think knebel not pitching one inning was the most important thing. But yes burnes being bad hurt too Yep. Losing at least 150 good-dominant innings from Knebel and Burnes is the biggest killer. Add in a mediocre Jeffress and that's ~200-250 quality innings the Brewers were likely counting on when spring training opened.
  9. As a note, Dubon is 25. Older than Orlando Arcia*** He's not the future at SS folks.
  10. I'm not all that convinced Dubon is ever a first division starter at any position so I'm not all that disappointed in him being traded. I'm pretty meh on this trade, but it's sorta quantity over quality so far. Acquired 4 guys and hopefully 1-2 of them are useful this year.
