  1. Bitonti grand slam breaks the game open. Gonna need some data on that one cause he may have hit it 500 feet. Camera couldn’t find it.
  2. It seems like him and Bitonti (and Made) are a bit too patient. Need to be jumping on the earlier stuff when it’s there to hit.
  3. Wonder if the success and the usage of those late high school picks gives us a little more pull in the draft when it comes to signing. Sure beats being recruited/transferred over as an underclassman.
  4. Man the depth of just decent young players throughout the lineups at Carolina and Arizona is just silly. I doubt many of them are true prospects but it’s just cool to see entire lineups of teenage competence.
  5. Made just lasers a single into center with so much spin that it jumped a few feet to the right of the CF on the bounce and rolls to the wall. Probably and error, maybe an inside the park home run.
  6. A valid point with the 33rd pick (Andrew Fischer, 1B Tennessee) is that we've basically drafted him twice in the last two drafts with Wilken and Burke. Albeit a bit smaller than those two, he's kind of our early pick type lately. Ethan Conrad checks those boxes too, but with Wilken’s school (Wake Forest) rather than Burke’s.
  7. Going off of BA’s Top 200 I just wanted to single some guys out that I think seem our type from the past couple years. That type? Young for the draft class, Northeast (New York / Jersey) and Midwest (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois) pitchers with pitchability over pure stuff. 71. Uli Fernsler (Michigan LHP, 18.0 at draft) 99. Marcelo Harsch (New Jersey RHP, 18.1 at draft, Wake Forest commit, basically Levonas from last year) 109. Frank Cairone (New Jersey LHP, 17.8 at draft) 120. Ethan Grim (Penn RHP, 18.1 at draft) I think we take one or two of these guys.
  8. Luke Adams has had an insane month of May too with a 315/.500/.537 going into today.
  9. Yeah seeing him and Letson pitching again would result in a huge exhale.
  10. Would going to the Yankees for Hess, Cunningham, and Legrange be too little or too much? Could play off the Yankees and Mets in the same way as the NL West teams.
  11. The Rattlers game made me notice that the Cubs ACL (1-13), A (10-31), and A+ (16-24) teams all stink.
  12. Quintana, Handelfry, and Montero are a combined 8-8 with 4 doubles.
  13. Gonna be a real shame when he wins the Cy Young instead.
  14. I wish Made had more of Peña’s aggressiveness. They are a lot closer prospect-wise than all these lists think.
  15. Never watched Birchard before. He looks like a dang tank.
  16. Ramon Rodriguez doubled off the wall to tie the game. Couldn’t see what happened off camera but it looks like a calf / achillies. Gutted it out and hopped into second almost 3/4 of the way.
  17. For it being rookie league and a possible walk-fest, the pitching staff has been very good with limiting them. Second to last in walks (27) and second to first in Ks (103).
  18. The Fangraphs prospect list that was posted today had tiny blurbs on most of them. Said they were all throwing in the low low 90s (but very young).
  19. I wonder if at some point we just let the latin kids take the entire 1-9 in every lineup and only draft pitchers? Half kidding.
  20. Meccage and Letson both having their starts skipped? Not worried, but a little worried.
  21. That is everything I've wanted a major publication to say. We all see it here, I just want others to acknowledge it as well.
  22. Tyler Rodriguez gonna get chained to first base. Caught stealing twice, in front of a home run and a double.
  23. There is too much of an extreme focus on youth and the quantity of it for them to not have a plan. The rules greatly benefit us and what we do right now so we just need to keep it up before any of these systems (IFA, draft comp, etc) get taken away. It really feels like we are witnessing the ultimate Brewers zig. I also think there is also going to be a lock out after the 2026 season, and we are ramping up to having our entire system packed to the gills preparing for the outcome of that. One more draft and IFA class like the last two and we are sitting real pretty.
  24. In the offseason there was a really well done series of articles here about which system had the best teenage talent. I think that series is down to a single paragraph if he writes it now.
