  1. Zamora is hitting .299/.413/,373 I fully understand there isn't power there or really much upside to be an everyday player but Durbin and Ortiz have given us nothing the past couple weeks. The big idea to the team would at very least be that we are trying to fix the 2 black holes at the end of the lineup, even if the options aren't great. Maybe a couple weeks down in AAA could jumpstart eithers bat to get back on track.
  2. Here are some trade ideas for like late June if everyone come back healthy and is a least decent. 1)Aaron Civale to Atl for P Luke Sinnard, Sinnard was one of my sleeper picks for us last year, 6'8' quality stuff and having a good start in A ball. 2)Nestor Cortes to Toronto for OF Victor Arias. Toronto needs pitching help, we get a 21 year old OF who has some potential still even though he is lower end prospect. 3) Brandon Woodruff to the A's for OF Henry Bolte. Woody probably has the biggest trade upside of the 1 year guys based on past front of the rotation status. Bolte would be a big time get if pitching values are really high. 4) Jose Quintana to Cubs for RP Jack Neely I don't like trading with the Cubs but they need a pitcher and are familiar with Q. Neely hasn't been good but has the Trevor Megill size and arm that we could fix. 5) Trevor Megill to Philly for P Moises Chace, P Alex McFarlene, and 3B/2B Otto Kemp I would do this today if it is a realistic offer. We get 2 really high upside arms and Kemp who could be given a shot at 3B today. The Phillies get a closer to fill in for the loss of Alvarado. Uribe, Mears, or Yoho fill into the closer role. 6) Freddy to Boston, OF Cedanne Rafeala to Houston, and 3B Cam Smith maybe an ancillary piece or two to Milwaukee. We get a plug in 3B who has big upside and some experience, the Sox get a pitcher to pair with Crochet while opening up space for Anthony, and the Stros get a true young quality OF that fits better than Smith miscast in the OF. 7) Rhys to Twins for P Simeon Woods-Richardson, We get a good arm who has been up and down with the Twins the past couple years and the Twins get an offense boost to 1B or the DH spot Just shooting ideas out there. I kind of really like the Megill to Philly idea for right now. We could probably fill in for Megill with Ashby and others coming back. For two 2 big arms and an upside 3B option I would be all for it.
  3. Between 2015 and 2016 we pretty muchly reshaped the team, over 2 years it wasn't really just a full dismantle but a big overhaul. We traded out LuCroy Jeffress, Gomez, Fiera Aram, Gerarado Parra, Jonathon Broxton, and Tyler Thornburg between the two years.
  4. I think it is time to give Freddie Zamora a shot at the bigs. His bat has been consistent in AAA and at least he has a really good defensive pedigree. Durbin back down to find the swing (stop pressing) and then rotate SS and 3B between Zamora, Mone, and Ortiz. If Seigler was healthy I would probably swap out Ortiz for Seigler and run Turang at SS more with Collins helping in the IF as well. We really need to try something different on the left side, it is getting better just letting things play out.
  5. Why not Tyler Jay, Rob Z and McGee are fine buy Jay has a 0.64 era. On top of that we rostered him to lose Shane Smith. Do we maybe think Rob Z and McGee are just placeholders for Ashby and Civale and if we lose them to waivers (McGee probably has options) oh well.
  6. 20)OF/1B Ethan Conrad. Good power/speed combo with more bb than k's. He had a good Cape and fits our style prospect to a t in my opinion, we could probably save some slot money as well. 32)2B Henry Godbout. This would be a reach but another good power/speed potential with morr bb than k's. Big money saver. 2nd) C/OF Taitn Gray. Huge power for a 6'4" young (18 in mid august) hs schooler who could catch. Also he is from Iowa so the Midwest calls. 3rd) P Malachi Richardson. This is my sleeper he is twins to Kyson (likely top 10 pick). He has a power arm with good breaking stuff. Not great college results but just how we find them. 4th) P Uli Fernsler With 3/4 college prospect we hopefully have saved enough to get a high end arm or 2. Fernsler is another very young HS option from the Midwest (MI).
  7. I was thinking more like one of the prospects, specifically Colby Thomas since he is a power hitting OF. I was thinking along lines of that they have Soderstrom, Bleday, and Butler in the OF with 3 really good OF prospects that maybe we could turn some pitching into a power bat. Maybe move an OF like Perkins or Mitchell for a left side infielder in a different move.
  8. What about a trade with the A's, the have Soderstrom, Rooker, and Kurtz who are all DH/1B types but forcing one to play the OF. They also have Colby Thomas (whom I really like) and Denzel Clarke in AAA and Henry Bolte (also love) in AA. They have plenty of pitching needs I don't think we could lure any of the mlb guys from them but Thomas, Clarke, or Bolte would be really solid adds to our system or big league club. I don't really know what type of package would be ideal but if the A's stay in contention. They could be a sneaky place to send Peralta if it comes down to that. If not they could use some IF help. Boeve and Civale for Henry Bolte would be a nice add for me, made make it Boeve, Perkins, and CarRod for Thomas. Possibly try and get Logan Davidson at 27 year 3B tearing it up in AAA (pretty sure there AAA is an extreme hitters park) as a throw in just to throw darts at 3B.
  9. Here is a fully hypothetical question, would you trade Yelich for Adames back? Let's say straight up just for the sake of arguing. Adames has been hitting a bit better after a really bad start but his defensive has been statistically as bad as it was last year. Yelich has 3 years left after this year Adamas has 6. I don't think I would do that deal, on one hand Adames is younger, plays a position of need, and I think would gain a bunch of value with a position switch to 3B (Chapman in SF) at this point. However I really wouldn't want to add those 3 years on especially with the the quality of young guys a few years away.
  10. Last year Flippo di Turi had 80 ab's in like 100 plate appearences in rookie ball before going to Carolina. I think Jose Anderson should at the very latest follow that timeline, maybe Jadyn Fielder because he is a tad older or Luis Corobo if Dinges get a call up in the next month as well. Melvin Hernandez is giving off very similar vibes to Manny Rodriguez last year. Both guys are prime examples of what makes this system so special right now. Just your average 18 year old dominating A ball, but not getting much praise. Does Quero get back to AAA when he can play a full 9 inning game, like within say 2-3 games or do we think it will be gradual and have him play like a week in A+ ball just to slowly assimilate him to better pitching. I kind of like the short stop at Appleton idea just to work his way back and keep some confidence.
  11. I've said it for a week or so that he needs a AAA promotion, especially since he has been in Biloxi since the end of 2023. If he can put together a good month in AAA with how bad 3B has been in the majors I would give him a shot.
  12. Agreed, with the control he has shown over the past 5/6 starts and the new and improved change up he has to jump up to one of the top 2-3 pitching prospects in the game. Made has the upside to be the number 1 prospect in the game by the end of the year, however he only has like 100 ab's.
  13. I think we have 3 top 25 prospects in Made, Misi, Pratt with Made and Misi having a chance top crack the top 10 for some evaluators. Quero could make his way into the discussion with a nice start to his year by mid-season. I wouldn bput Made, Misi, Pratt, Quero, Pena, and Henderson in the top 100 right now with maybe up to 10-12 others who could be in the top 100 by the end of the year. Great right up by fan graphs. Thanks sveumrules...
  14. Seigler plays 2B/C/OF right, any 3B in is past? Maybe he should start getting some reps if not. Misi needs to get a big league shot even if we are a bit cramped on our roster and have guys coming back from injury.
  15. Nice, if he can even throw that like 15% of the time I think 2 and 1/2 pitches might be enough for at least the 1st couple years.
  16. I forgot about Quintana, if we sent off those guys we would probably trade him as well. But your point is good, in all likelihood we would probably get a mlb ready pitcher back for one of them even if it was a lower value guy. Probably at that point even a AA guy like Crow or Wichrowski could be ready if they get a promotion in a month or so.
  17. I think with how many teams need quality starting pitching we will get something, I wouldn't think that we could get a top 20 prospect but as an early season trade candidate (hopefully with good numbers in the next 2-3 games) there should be a little return. Ramon Urias is probably to much but the O's are probably more desperate than us and have lots of 3B options. Would could always attach Peguero or a different reliever if need be.
  18. If we are at .500 I would think we might trade a starter or two and try and a bat. If we are like 5 games under I can see us selling the 1 year guys and entertaining bigger offers on Freddy, William, Megill among others (only take an overpay). Some of it depends on where some of our younger pitchers are on innings and having a plan, I doubt Misi and Henderson will be allow to throw much over 130 innings so it does get hard to trade Nestor, Woody, and Civale and then move a couple starters to the pen. Also the division will play a role, if we are under .500 but only 4ish games behind the Cubs or whoever is in the lead that is a big difference than say 8 games back. I doubt there is a chance at the Wild Card with how good the NL is.
  19. My hesitation to annoint Henderson is that with 2 pitches the league will adjust fast. He has looked like a top of the rotation guy for the 2 starts but will teams be able to adjust. I hope we can give Civale 2-3 starts to show that he is the pitcher we saw at the end of the year and then potentially flip him for a SS or 3B. Maybe Ramon Urias for Civale???
  20. I don't get the Dalbec (played RF) and Rosario signings. I feel like both are vets that are going to expect a mlb chance sooner than later. I really dont see either being better than Daz, Collins, and maybe on par with Oliva. My guess is that there is a some bad news coming from the organization somewhere from Perk or Mitchell probably.
  21. If things fall right by maybe mid 2028 we should have an entire lineup of guys who are like 25 or younger and Yelich (maybe Turang or Sal). The pitching staff should be really young and high potential as well but gets a bit harder to predict. C-Quero/Dinges 1B-Bitonti/Adams/EMJ/Burke 2B-Turang/Josh A/Pena SS- Pratt/Made/Pena 3B-Wilken/Boeve/Pratt/Made OF-Chourio/Sal/Mitchell/Lara/Payne/Anderson/one the IF young guys I left of a ton of potential names and there is probably like 20 logical guys who could be in the rotation. It does leave the door open to think about adding a big name free agent at some point if it isn't more than a 4/5 year deal.
  22. Mears has been amazing, I would guess if he was healthy to start the year he would also be pushing for the league lead in appearances. With Mears, Uribe, Keonig, Megill, and Anderson the back end of the bullpen should be pretty solid, add in Yoho, Ashby, and Hall/Hudson/Payamps/Peguero if they get right and the bullpen should be solid the rest of the way. I really like how Mears explodes of the rubber, I dont remember his delivery being quite the same last year.
  23. Wow, the top 5 in Biloxi have been beyond impressive the past couple weeks. It is also amazing that we have the youngest and best team in A ball and now it would appear that we have the youngest and best team in rookie ball as well. Reading these reports makes watching 2 back to back big league shutout way more bearable. I might have to start watching the minor league games instead of the big league team if things continue. I read that Miqueas Mercedes is up to 96 mph at 18, he is someone I really didn't even know about until last week. Add in Dorchies at 6'5" with k number like that and some growth, those are probably 2 guys who can be top of the rotation guys if they stay healthy and develop.
  24. Any chance we could trade Dame for Bradley Beal? We would be taking on an extra year of bad contract but would be getting a big time help to lure Giannis to stay. The Suns likely won't be able to unload Beal but at least here they get out of a year of the contract and have a big time player for 2026. 1)Dame for Beal 2)Kuzma and Pat C, lotto protected 2031 pick for Jrue Holiday Ok this is a pipe dream but with Tatem going down Kuz would help fill that role, the Celts also have White and Pritchard as point guards. On top of that Jrue's contract isn't looking good based on some decline in numbers this year. 3) Re-Sign Bobby 4)Sign Russell Westbrook I posted this before but Russ playing fast with Giannis is super interesting, in the half court not helpful. 1)Jrue 2)Russ 3) Beal 4)Bobby 5) Giannis Bench)Green, whoever we can get on minimum deals. I feel like that team is interesting enough to keep Giannis around for another year or 2 and has some potential to be really good even though it is an old team with holes.
  25. My 10 years prediction is based on not having draft picks until 2031, you have to realize we have basically nothing of substantial value after Giannis. If we can get say 2 young players and 4 1st round picks that really doesn't make a decent team. Especially since the team we get those picks from will be good until 2030 because they have Giannis. We will be clean in 2 years but there is no way we will be able to sign any decent free agents with a couple decent young players and no long term picks. Essentially if we trade Giannis we become the Pelicans after Anthony Davis but without the high end picks to get Zion and others. By 2031 it will take at least 3 or 4 years to get our own young players experience and add vets around them.
