  1. Does this mean he won't need a 40 man spot?
  2. Has the competitive balance picks been announced? Maybe the O's, Royals, Tigers, or D-backs would trade us a similar package to Burnes with a comp. pick to make up for the eventual comp pick that will be attached to Devin. Obviously the propsects would be as good as Ortiz and Hall but with all the potential picks from Willy, Levonas, and our own comp pick that would be sweet.
  3. The Phillies could be a good option, Hoffman and Estevez are both free agents. With them going out early I could see them prioritizing the bullpen. They have a nice collection of prospects especially 18-21 year olds with pretty intriguing ceilings.
  4. Jacob Misiorowski Easily the the highest ceiling and likely the highest floor of our arms. Hopefully he shows enough command improvement to be ready for a rotation spot by mid-season.Cooper Pratt If he can build on his power he could be a top 15 prospect come this time next year. I would prefer to start the year in A+ but with the warmer weather in Biloxi a promotion may be a better place to start.Jeferson Quero With Contreras likely playing to well to afford, Quero coming back strong will be essential. He turns 22 on Oct. 8 so there is no rush especially with Haase to push him next year.Tyler Black The rubber is finally meeting the road this offseason. Either he gets a shot at 3B, Bauers role, or we should trade him before we lose value. I still have faith in the bat, but see him more as a OF.Yophery Rodriguez He has all the tools to be a big time prospect, if he can hit .270+ next year I think he will be a top 50 prospect by the end of the year..Robert Gasser It seems weird that he is still a prospect, if he wasn't out most of next year I would probably have him at 4.Logan Henderson 104/15 k/bb in 81 innings tells me there is a high likelihood he will be at least a solid 3/4 starter especially with the high end changeup. It will be interesting how we address his innings next year so he could be an option at the end of the year. Gasser and Henderson should give the rotation a lot of stability for years to come.Jesus Made If Made gets of to a good say 50-100 ab's in Carolina he goes to #1 in my opinion. I dare to say Chourio style upside at SS if he can make adjustments as he climbs the system.Mike Boeve 9-12 are interchangeable based on what you value in a prospect. Boeve has the highest floor as a solid utility guy, he is probably the closest of the 4 to the bigs but definitely needs a couple months of AAA at least. Eric Bitonti Probably the biggest upside of the group but also the lowest floor. Another guy who could easily be a top 50 prospect at this point next year.Luke Adams If he could hit over .250 with those obp numbers and under-rated power and speed he is likely a top 100 prospect. Brock Wilken Since the power stroke looked so good I will give him the benefit of doubt. A poor start to 2025 bumps him of this list quickly.Luis Pena Pena kind of gets forgotten when compared to Made's skillset but he hit .393 with 23 xbh in 163 ab's. Probably another guy who could be a top 50 prospect by the end of next yearBraylon Payne The big 2nd game in Carolina shows the huge upside, I think in 2 years we should see some power develop and the insight the scouting department had will be revealed fully.Josh Knoth A couple rough starts at the end of the year isn't enough to deter the high end stuff. Probably needs to cut down on walks a bit to get into the top 100 prospect discussion.Bishop Letson If he can fill out his frame and add a mph or 2 each of the couple years there could be some top of the rotation potential.Carlos F Rodriguez A rough start hurt his prospect status but still only 22 and has a high quality 10 starts or so in the middle of the year. Maybe he needs to edit his repertoire a bit to like 4 pitches and then add pitches back in once he establishes himself.Bryce Meccage The big upside puts him here but could probably be from 15-25. If he can sit 93-95 with 4 solid pitches he will have a chance to jump up the rankings.Craig Yoho Yoho and Hunt were just to good to leave off this list. I fully expect Yoho to break camp and be a leverage reliever by the end of the year.K.C. Hunt If he was a year or two younger he would likely be up by Henderson and Gasser. I am interest to see if he is in AA or AAA. 21. Jadher Arienamo 22. Brett Wichrowski 23. Blake Burke 24. Luis Lara 25. Shane Smith 26. Juan Baez 27. Manny Rodriguez 28.Chad Patrick 29. Dylan O'Rae 30. Ernesto Martinez It is crazy looking at the quality/upside in our 21-30 prospects, Wichrowski, Arienamo, Burke, and Lara could be top 10 prosects in a bunch of organizations. 31. Tate Kuehner 32.Jose Anderson 33. Josh Adamczewski 34. Juan Ortuno 35. Yorman Galindez 36. Marco Dinges 37. Travis Smith 38. Yerlin Rodriguez 39. Flippo Di Turi 40. Enniel Cortez 41. Coleman Crow 42. Mark Manfredi 43. Wande Torres 44. Dikember Sanchez 45. Jorge Quintana 46. Wes Clarke 47. Eric Brown Jr. 48. Jason Woodward 49. Ryan Birchard 50. Hayden Robinson I am leaving of most of the 2024 draft class even though there are a couple who could be in here. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone.
  5. If we have more potential spending power in a couple years would it make more sense to extend a few guys no or would it make more sense to wait until that money starts to show up.
  6. I think there are always tweaks that can be made, my complaint would be that our pitchers get to cute when up 0-2/1-2 and need to attack more. No one wants to give up a dinger ahead 0-2 but throwing a pitch a half foot out of the zone rarely does anything except disrupt a pitchers flow and make them throw more pitches. In theory attack and make a hitter have to make contact 0-2/1-2 and rely on that defense even more.
  7. The Tigers wouldn't be bad, I live in Michigan and hear a lot of different things. They should have a lot of money this offseason, my friends really want Alex Bregman and then to use Jung in a trade. If that is the case I could see us trading Devin for Jung (maybe we give up a bit more). Vierling is ok but really more of an OF than 3B. The Tigers farm system is decent but not real deep so my guess is that a Devin to Detriot trade would be for 2-3 decent prospects in or around there 7-20 range.
  8. Tender and trade: Hoby, Bauers, Bryse (trade early in offseason), Devin DFA/release: Jay, Capra Keep: P (16) Ashby, Civale, Gasser, Hall, Huddy, Koenig, Mears, Megill, Myers, Payamps, Peguero, Peralta, Rea, CarRod, Uribe, Woody (Devin would be 17 if not able to trade until later in offseason) Offense (15): Contreras, Black, Haase, Quero, Dunn, Hoskins, Monasterio, Ortiz, Turang, Chourio, Frelick, Yeli, Perkins, Mitchell, Collins ?: Hicklen, Herget, Zastryzny, Baukauskas 40 man adds: Henderson, Patrick, EMJ, Shane Smith ??? Wes Clarke (if EMJ is on 40 man I would guess no Clarke but he would be iffy to get picked in rule 5) 40 man spot out of camp: Yoho? So I have 31 locks with 4 minor leaguers and 4 maybe guys I would like to keep but won't lose any sleep if they get DFA'd, you could maybe even add Mone, Dunn, or Collins to that list depending on how much you like any of those guys. Add in some guys like Black or Peguero (among others) who could get traded and eventually Gasser to the 60 man. There should be a little wiggle room as long as we don't add to many 40 mans in trades.
  9. Thanks, I forgot he is under the age level. I was thinking he was going to get 10/300 but the int. bonus rules will make it a crazy amount less.
  10. I read somewhere that it could be something like 200-300% more TV revenue that is 30-60 million a year. Roki Sasuki anyone?
  11. Is it possible that we could should get more revenue from this? If we have a million viewers paying 100 dollars a year, I doubt it costs 50 million to produce a season. That could be an increase. What do you need 2 or 3 announcers, 2 or 3 analyst (pre/post), Sophia, maybe 4-6 camera guys and 4-6 guys in the truck to produce. You probably get some advertising revenue. I am sure there is some initial costs for equipment and travel expenses are steep.
  12. I believe early in the year he was hitting 98 in like the starts in Appleton, my guess is he had 1 rogue super heater that makes him look good.
  13. Moncada or Polanco are fine but if that is the best we can get I would almost want to give Sal or Black a shot at 3B/2B. I think Sal could be a good 2B if given enough time but the problem is how much time. Luis Rengifo and Brandon Lowe would be better options, I think they would be a safer choices than Moncada or Polanco and the prospect price wouldn't be crazy high. I still prefer a prospect option in a Devin Williams trade, most of the potential trade partners have a young IF who would be a good match.
  14. No need to go after a outfielder unless there is no doubt top notch young middle of the order hitter. Brent Rooker is the only guy that comes to mind and he is really just a DH at this point.
  15. If we are going to pay someone big I'd rather just spend money on a starter like Snell, Flaherty, or even Shane Bieber.
  16. I think Perdomo would fit our style well with solid versatile defense, good baserunning, and a reliable but unspectacular bat. At 24 with a 6'2" frame he could still at a bit of power and is controllable for 3 years. If I was the D-backs I would probably keep him and move him to 3B when they lose Suarez after next year (potentially).
  17. I think the big picture is that we need to decide who is the long term core of this team with Chourio and try and lock them up cheaply and then have young guys ready when we move on from the guys we can afford. For example Contreras is going to be to expensive long term, the writing is on the wall that by the 2026/27 offseason we will need to trade him. With Quero in the wings we can trade Contreras after this year if Quero looks good and maximize value (filling in potential organizational holes) or wait and in 2 offseason get good value and hopefully have Quero with some vital big league experience backing Contreras up for a year. We are pretty set long term except for 1B/3B but have 4 good prospects in which at least 2 should seperate themselves by next year. Pitching we have Gasser, Myers maybe Ashby or Hall and the group of Henderson, Misi, CarRod, Patrick with Smith, Wichrowski, Kuehner, Hunt, and others who can probably comprise a solid group of starters for a while. However Ashby and Misi probably are the only guys with top of the rotation stuff so it would be nice to try and find an ace somewhere somehow. With how good Arnold and company have been at finding gem relievers I don't worry to much about that unless a big organization gets smart and hire a bunch of our pitching coaches away. I think the general idea is to not rock the boat and work at keeping the positive clubhouse vibe while finding high potential players without selling the farm. It stinks but we probably can't sign any superstar talent until Yeli is off his deal
  18. Agree, I would still like to have him try 1B in camp but it seems like that wasn't really an option for whatever reason last year. Hopefully if he DH's most of the time we can avoid more injuries and get over the 130 but at this point it seems like he is a bare minimum 2 time 10 day DL guy with back flare ups.
  19. I would love to trade for another 2/3 style starter but for now without a big move Peralta, Myers, Woody, Civale, Rea is a safe bet. I think I would have DL Hall or Ashby piggyback off of Woody for the 1st month or 2 and just keep his work down a bit. I would probably look into stretching out Ashby during the offseason and see if he could bump Rea to the pen. To be honest, I wouldn't mind just trading Rea and then having a camp battle between Misi, Henderson, Ashby, Hall, CarRod, and Shane Smith (+ maybe a minor league fa vet) for the 5th man and long man spots. We have enough quality depth that we can gamble a bit and go for a young guys upside over the likely steady 4 era of Rea.
  20. I don't like mlb trade simulator but it has Devin at a 8.6 trade value. I think Burnes was over 20 last offseason, that being said there is plenty of past trades that say we should get at least 2 top 10ish organizational prospects for Devin. I really like the Red Sox like Redd Vencher posted. Meidroth is super interesting since they have Campbell ahead of him and they have lots of talent in their top 25 to maybe squeeze out 3 pieces. I also like the idea of a 3 team deal where Devin goes to the Yankees, I don't like the match with there farm system but maybe Devin goes to the Yankees and we get a top starter from a team like the Marlins, Rays, CWS (Crochet), or other.
  21. MLB.com com looks like it did a re-rank, has Quero 43, Pratt 57, Misi 80, and Made as the 4th prospect in our system. Likely just outside of the top 100. Nothing to crazy outside of that.
  22. The Marlins got 2 solid pitching prospects (granted not having great years) for a half year Tanner Scott and the solid but not spectacular Bryan Hoeing. We should get at least that value. The Yanks, Rangers, Red Sox, D-backs, Ranger could all use a closer upgrade and then a half dozen or so could pursue Devin like the O's, Phillies, Dodgers, Giants, Blue Jays, Cubs among others. I like the Red Sox and D-backs farm systems best if we are looking for prospects.
  23. Trade Devin to Arizona for Geraldo Perdomo and a comp pick (I think Arizona gets one) Trade Black (maybe add in a couple little pieces) for Jesus Luzardo Trade Hoby and Peguero for 1B Spencer Horwitz Trade Rea and Bryse Wilson for prospects 1)IF Perdomo Frelick 2)lF Chourio 3)DH Yeli 4)C Contreras 5)CF Mitchell 6)1B Hoskins 7)IF Turang 8)IF Ortiz 9)RF Frelick Bench)Perk, Haase, Horwitz, Mone/Collins Peralta, Woody, Luzardo, Myers, Civale (plenty of AAA depth) Megill, Koenig, Payamps, Hudson, Ashby, Mears, Yoho, Hall/Bauk/Uribe/Zas/Herget I wouldn't call any of those all in but it would give us a no holes on offense the best defense team in the league and a rotation with 4 potential 1/2 starters and a glutony of young arms in AAA (eventually Gasser with Ashby and Hall as well) because I built an injury susceptible rotation.
  24. I am ok getting a quality IF and maybe trying to get a top of the rotation starter but we have a solid roster and really only have a couple places to improve. I like getting a young IF as the start to a Devin Williams package and then maybe trying to put together a package for a top of the rotation starter. I don't see any moves that make sense that I would qualify as all in. Maybe we keep Devin and go after someone like Bo Bichette who has been mentioned lately but I don't really see our front office doing that.
