  1. Well, we won this exact pitching matchup less than 5 days ago. And this team hasn't quit all year. So, there's reason for optimism. All you have to do is get one tonight, and then all of a sudden the vibes are good again, and the pressure is right back on the Mets. How often do 2 game winning streaks happen at home in MLB? ALL THE TIME, so let's get it done!
  2. Skubal is shoving.
  3. Make it 3-0. October, man.
  4. Tigers sporting Skubal a 2-0 lead here in the 2nd.
  5. It's already been a wildly successful season, considering the seemingly overwhelming odds we faced in March. I find myself more appreciative of October baseball this year compared to the last few years which have been highly stressful and ultimately quite depressing. In a sense it feels like the dawn of a new era of highly competitive baseball as opposed to last year which felt more like a last gasp. A series loss would sting for a few minutes (I'll really miss Willy), but would quickly be replaced by the knowledge of an ascending core of players led by a burgeoning 20 year old superstar to go with a healthy Yelich. That being said, there's no reason we can't win now (we won 93 games after all), so LET'S GO CREW!
  6. I'd have to imagine Frelick is a break glass in case of emergency option for this series. His game is so dependent on speed that it would be counterproductive to have him in the lineup if he's still limping around, and he's effectively interchangeable with Perkins. That being said, watch him be starting in RF today.
  7. Rea's fate was sealed with 106 pitches on Sunday.
  8. Astros tickets are going for even cheaper on the secondary market. Playoff fatigue is real. Also, the start time is crappy. Tickets are going for almost $20 more tomorrow night.
  9. Beat the Mets.
  10. Almost 70 pitches the last two days for Diaz heading into a 3 game Wild Card series....
  11. Two major recent rule changes helping out the Brewers here in Game 2: 1) September roster limit at 28. Mets aren't going to be able to rest all of their starters and relievers in Game 2. 2) Position Players unable to pitch unless down by 8 or more runs. Going to have to burn some relievers. Only Severino is available as someone who's stretched out as a starter and they're now going to save him for Game 1 tomorrow. Need a close Game 2, with the Braves coming out on top.
  12. Let Edwin Diaz throw all the pitches!
  13. Too much to ask for the Braves to tie the game and send it to extras?
  14. Best day ever for Brewers and Padres fans.
  15. If Peguero ends up on the postseason roster....
  16. MLB would never allow it.
  17. Padres fans are having a good time now.
  18. Would be nice if the Mets scored a run or two here to keep it close.
  19. If the Mets lose the 2nd game, it's whatever for me. The Dbacks are not some juggernaut and have spent the last week blowing an 8 run lead to us and then struggling with the mediocre Giants and a Padres team playing for nothing.
  20. Who do they think they are....The White Sox. Honestly, makes you more appreciative of Attanasio and his lack of meddling.
  21. I would think tonight seeing as we already know where all the games are going to be played, but if we don't hear by the end of tonight then they're obviously waiting for the doubleheader to be finished which agree would be stupid.
  22. Another positive byproduct of today is that we'll now almost certainly get one of the two later games. Kansas City-Baltimore is effectively a guarantee for the early game as the only game in the Eastern Time Zone and involving two small markets. Detroit-Houston is Central Time Zone like us and thus our main competition. However, working in our favor is the fact that Houston's opponent is Eastern Time Zone and a small market, while the DBacks are Pacific and the Mets are the biggest market. And it's unlikely MLB would force the Mets to play in the afternoon after playing two games the previous day.
  23. Major fines by MLB and probably loss of draft picks.
  24. Pure stupidity and we should be rooting for him to have to pitch tomorrow.
