  1. Wes Clarke just continues to evaporate baseballs. He's had an incredible season.
  2. Bottom 3 run franchise in the sport easily. Rockies, A's, and Angels.
  3. I thought the same but I have serious doubts any of these players (maybe Renfroe but doubt we want him) would make it to us on the waiver list. Would love Moore or Lopez to replace Chafin.
  4. Feel like that 1st inning just sucked all the energy out of the crowd
  5. Payamps actually came up as a starter so not that concerned about him. From 2018 to 2021 (excluding 2020 obviously) he went 60-100+ in innings including winter ball.
  6. Yeah Bukauskas is here to eat innings in a situation where Miley doesn’t go long or there’s a big lead/deficit. Even if Wilson was available they probably would have done this but Wilson being unavailable for probably the whole Cubs series (at least the first 2) made it an even more obvious decision.
  7. I was reading @Matthew Trueblood’s series preview on northsidebaseball and he seems to think the opposite in terms of bullpen. Our bullpen is fresh and healthy while he said their bullpen is a bit worn down and a bit injured.
  8. Gasser pitched on Friday. No point in bringing him up to sit on the bench for the Cubs series while being unavailable to pitch.
  9. Yeah I think they do that and then go to a 6-man rotation for the rest of the season after that especially with no off days from September 8th to 24th.
  10. WHITING STRANDS THE LEADOFF DOUBLE! ACL BREWERS ARE CHAMPIONS!
  11. Whiting gives up a leadoff double. Things are not looking good.
  12. …and Barrios strikes out as well.
  13. Craig Yoho pitched a scoreless 8th with 2 strikeouts and a 2 out single. To the 9th inning we go. Brewers up 5-4!
  14. Also doesn’t help that KC Hunt and Morris Austin allowed all 3 of their inherited runners to score. ACL manager’s mid-inning pitching changes have failed dramatically tonight.
  15. Luis Medina hits a 2 out double but Yeison Perez strikes out. Brewers now 1-9 with RISP today while the Dbacks are 3-4 in RISP. Going to need the pitching staff to be perfect in the 8th and 9th as the offense might be tapped out.
  16. Brailin Rodriguez was pulled with 2 outs and a runner on 1st in the 7th. Morris Austin in to replace him immediately issued a walk. Then Morris Austin gave up a double to RF but a Reece Walling to Yeison Perez to Edgardo Ordonez really prevents the tying run from scoring. 5-4 Brewers after 7. Need the offense to wake back up because Arizona is not going to give up easily.
  17. Cubs schedule is objectively tougher. 7 series against playoff teams or teams in the playoff race and 3 series against teams out of it. Brewers have 5 of each.
  18. Probably a very simple Milner need another batter to be ready?
  19. And he hit another HR...5 RBI today. Series numbers to 11 hits, 2 doubles, 5 HR, 11 RBI, 4 BB.
  20. Trevor Werner killing the Mudcats again...just hit a 3-run HR in the top of 1st to put the Mudcats down 4-0. He's absolutely killed the Mudcats in his series. In the series he now has 10 hits, 2 doubles, 4 HR, 9 RBI, and 4 BB.
  21. Not to mention the fact the baseball was carrying an absurd amount in that game. On a normal weather day, no way Taylor or Farmer’s HR carry out of the park. Taylor’s was 46 LA which tied the season high LA HR and Farmer hit a 97 EV, 35 LA ball into the CF side of the Brewers bullpen lol.
  22. Yeah 29 of DW’s 42 appearances this season he has entered with a 1-run lead, needing 4+ outs, or the tying run at the plate. Think this is less how Counsell has used DW and more just the fact the Brewers have had so many 1 run leads given to DW. DW could have a much lower leverage index if Brewers gave him more 2 or 3 runs leads in the 9th
  23. Once Reds get through those games their schedule eases up quite a bit with only 3 more games the rest of the season against a playoff team after the Mariners series. The damage could be done by then if they don’t start playing better though.
