  1. Yeah Sanchez being a RHH is a plus considering our lineup is weaker against LHP. Replacing him with someone like Miller is already very likely to be a net negative from a talent standpoint but from a roster fit standpoint it hurts as well.
  2. Feel like this is a name I haven't seen mentioned much but Osiris Ramirez hit another HR today. 8 on the season and his OPS is .985. Looks like he was a bigger bonus guy with a $450K signing bonus
  3. If the rumors are true that he agreed on a deal before he was picked and reneged on said deal, I definitely don't wish him the best.
  4. No the Brewers should not trade their 128 wRC+ backup catcher
  5. Yeah I honestly didn’t expect him to pitch at all. I expected him to stick around on rehab assignment for the full rehab length and then get DFA’d when he was activated off the IL
  6. I can honestly say McCullers gave the Brewers 3.2 more innings than I expected when they made the trade.
  7. Was what looked like a FB that was spiked and bounced and hit him on the side of the front leg. He looked fine. Even was on 1B for a pitch then they pulled him. I don't want to say these are things we should read into but Adamczewski getting cautiously pulled after a HBP and Pena getting pinch hit for as a DH a week before the trade deadline feels like something I'm at least raising an eyebrow over.
  8. I saw someone say MLB teams should carry emergency pitchers like hockey has emergency goalies. In a situation where a position player would hit you use your emergency pitcher instead of a position player. Kind of a silly idea but I thought it was pretty cool.
  9. I don't know about that especially if he's going to be in CF. PCA is that good defensively.
  10. He would have gone 6 innings in both starts if they weren't limiting his innings.
  11. I've been quite underwhelmed with Lara defensively so far. His jumps have been really poor.
  12. McCullers needs to pitch better but what on earth is Bauers doing in the 9th inning up 6 runs trying to turn a double play like that throwing to a moving target. Just get the out at 1B. Game would have been over and Megill wouldn't have needed to come in if he just tossed the ball to McCullers and gotten the out at first.
  13. I think it's a nothing burger. Going straight from HS to D1 is really hard. It's a bigger jump than signing a pro deal and going to the complex. I remember when someone made a similar comment about Levonas a year ago after he had an underwhelming first year by the stats and now he's considered a Top 10 pick in the draft next year.
  14. Count me even more out on Ryan now. Getting scratched with arm fatigue after already dealing with elbow pain earlier this year.
  15. Burnes hit that level of pitcher in 2021 but he was trending down by the time we traded him. This was Burnes in the 2 years before the trade - 75 ERA-, 83 FIP-, 79 xFIP-, 21% K-BB This is Skubal in the last 1.5 years before the trade - 57 ERA-, 60 ERA-, 61 FIP-, 28% K-BB Burnes peak was in that Skubal range. In 2020 and 2021 Burnes was 55 ERA-, 40 FIP-, 57 xFIP-, 29% K-BB. If Burnes had kept up that level in 2022 and 2023 he would have gotten us a much bigger haul.
  16. I'm still out on Miller because his batted ball data is so bad but Wood looks really interesting. Feel like he's very similar to Liam Hicks on Miami. Very likely a backup catcher and if the defense improves could probably be a starting catcher.
  17. Harrison continuing to trend in the right direction. No complaints during his four ups today.
  18. Hamilton starting again today. Ortiz-Pratt were playing so well at 3B-SS when Hamilton was on the IL. I don't understand why you would mess around with something that was working so well. When Hamilton was on the IL the Brewers had a 163 wRC+ from 3B and SS.
  19. Feltner is a Brewers killer. Career 5.24 ERA but in 6 starts against Milwaukee has a 2.67 ERA. His best start of the year by fangraphs game score was against us earlier this year. 6 innings of hit hit, one run ball.
  20. Not really playing time available at AAA with Quero not currently catching and Wilken/Adams up there.
  21. Yerlin blows the 2 run lead in the 11th and Wisconsin's losing streak moves to 7 and they have lost 9 of 10. Have to wonder if this is going to be Yerlin's last year in the system. He's been at A+ for 3 years now and has shown absolutely no improvement.
  22. MLb average is 3.44 BB/9 so I'll split by 3 walks or fewer and 4 walks or more. 3 walks or fewer - 25-22 (.532%) 4 walks or more - 39-17 (.696%)
  23. Well looks like Knaak might not be signing based on an MLB Pipeline article that came out tonight. If that's the case the Brewers will have $315,875 left to sign the group of Hart, Bell, Maiorana, and Havard. Anything they sign over $150K would count towards that bonus pool.
  24. Blake Burke just hit his third HR of the night. One to RF, one to CF, and the third to LF.
