    Come on Joseph are you saying that the 5 IP/75 pitches that the beat reporters say the Brewers are looking to get from Priester tonight isn't realistic?

"I do agree that the Brewers should do everything they can to keep Hook but I remember when people were saying similar things about Derek Johnson. I have a feeling if Hook were to eventually leave that Henderson would slot in and keep things churning. Brewers have lost quite a bit over the last few years from their FO and coaching staff and have seamlessly replaced pretty much every person to leave. It's funny because the guy they have seemingly struggled the most to replace is Quintin Berry with our baserunning and OF defense not being as sharp as it was when Berry was here."

    I decided to do my best @sveumrules impression when someone asked if the Brewers have been able to have success without hitting many HR because they haven't allowed many HR. HR differential looks like it could be a decent stat to measure general team success as the top 3 in HR differential this year are the Yankees, Dodgers, and Braves who are 3 of the best teams in baseball. The Brewers sit at a modest 14th with a -2 differential. How have they gone about being so successful while having a middle of the road HR differential? Well the title says it all. The Brewers have dominated RISP in 2026. Hitting with RISP - 559 PA (4th) with a .290/.387/.443 slash for a .364 wOBA (3rd) Pitching with RISP - 400 PA (2nd) with a .221/.294/.307 slash for .269 wOBA (1st) I think the two big questions are is this type of success sustainable over an entire season and can this type of success translate to postseason success. I know @sveumrules has posted about the Brewers hitting really well with RISP for multiple seasons now so maybe the Brewers have cracked the code in that regard. I think the second question is the key. Can you have postseason success playing this way? In the postseason teams are going to be much more aggressive trying to win when it comes to pitching decisions in addition to seeing the team's best pitchers more often in the postseason. Can you rely on stringing together hits against the best pitchers in the sport?

    Oh I completely agree with that which is why I started with the Brewers should do everything they can to keep Hook. Just because you have done a great job replacing staff and management that have left doesn't mean you should take your current staff/management for granted.

    The initial Hader and Williams trades weren’t the flashiest but the secondary trades are looking like some of Arnold’s best work. Ruiz netted us Contreras and Payamps. Durbin and two MiLB FA signings netted us Harrison, Drohan, and Hamilton.

    This isn't right. Ortiz is still starting more at SS than Hamilton. Ortiz has more PA in the month of May than Hamilton does despite Ortiz exclusively playing SS and Hamilton playing both SS and 3B.

    Patrick had two days rest coming off a 4 inning outing. Murphy probably didn’t want to use him at all today. That’s probably why Ashby had a really long leash. I’d imagine it was never on the table for Patrick to come back out for the 9th.

    That rehab goal for Priester seems very lofty for a guy who hasn't gone more than 7 outs in his previous rehab starts and has seen his stuff and command both be well below his typical level

    Also this is Rengifo this year. vs RHP - .320 wOBA, .312 xwOBA, 103 wRC+ vs LHP - .131 wOBA, .252 xwOBA, -25 wRC+ He's been like the inverse Blake Perkins in that he has looked solid against RHP and has been pitcher-esque against LHP. Doesn't feel like a guy that needs to be DFA'd.

    That feels like the big question. Do the Brewers view Williams as good enough to start at SS and/or do they want to call up a rookie and bounce him around between 3B and SS instead of getting him reps in one spot. Hamilton and Ortiz have been in a sort of platoon situation at SS for a bit with Rengifo getting more every day reps at 3B. Pratt makes the most logical sense to call up because he's on the 40 and can absolutely play SS at a level the Brewers want but Williams seems like the more sensible guy to call up because he's older and a bit more experienced than Pratt.

    Yerlin fell behind 3-0 then fired off 6 straight strikes for two strikeouts to get out of the inning with the 5-4 lead still intact.

    5-4 now and still bases loaded with 1 out. Low got a pop up to open the inning then walked the next three batters. Yerlin Rodriguez came in and hasn't gotten a batter out.

    Timber Rattlers bullpen unfortunately threatening to blow a 5-0 lead here in the 8th inning. It's 5-3 with the bases loaded and 1 out.

    Having reliable guys in the pen like Patrick and Sproat who can give you 4 strong innings is so special. It really gives the Brewers the ability to let Sproat pitch through his growing pains. He flashes so much potential and then kind of runs out of gas in the 5th inning where you can turn it to a guy like Drohan to go 2, 3, or even 4 innings.
