  1. Cubs had ONE good inning vs the Brewers. Priester was due a loss and... they couldn't get anything else going vs the Brewers pitching... and we blew this one. That's it. We're going to be fine. No fatalistic BS now. We're still up 2-1 and this series isn't gonna make it back to Milwaukee. I'm just hoping the Phillies can take a couple games so Philly comes to Milwaukee on October 13th!!!!
  2. Alright... That took everything for the Cubs. Pressure is still on them tomorrow at home with Gm5 back in Milwaukee and Freddy on the Mound.
  3. I think Frelick probably would. Bauers to the OF. Lets just hope we have to figure that out.
  4. It only made sense to me earlier because... Lockridge is really not a good hitter. But here... with hindsight, it's impossible to argue. If they would have, I certainly wouldn't have argued...
  5. This is a chance for Vaughn to really vault himself into Brewers lore...and he flies out to RF...
  6. I mean... who do you hit there? It's a toss up and he has been as good as anyone this year. If he's not hitting 3rd, he's hitting 1st or 2nd. It's been a brutal series since his first AB, but he finished the year having a big Sept, he had a big 2nd half. And again, a RHP started for the Cubs...
  7. Gonna need an unsung hero to come through. Mona...and then Perkins before Yelly and one gets on, it's the 21-year-old star. This feels a bit like a Miguel Cabrera type moment for him. I hope you're right.
  8. That's... a 50/50 call I think. I get the argument, but... he's your #3 hitter.
  9. He was so good in the playoffs last year and then starts this year with the double and just has NOT been competitive since then. Just bad at bats. Can't have that from your #3 hitter. Also... kinda feel like you should be saving Patrick here. Going with Uribe and Megill. He's one of the few I trust to give us multiple innings right now.
  10. It's...miserable. Not as bad as it's been in the past watching the game slowly slip away in the deciding game, but.. that hurts. I jumped the gun, I thought Vaughn was up 5th(Bauers and that Vaughn would hit for him)... but it ain't always about splits. You've got a guy who has been a legit middle of the order horse and... Guess he'll get his chance next inning, but that was your best chance. Leadoff #####ing double and it's stranded.
  11. They... came close. Cant' say I feel GREAT about Bauers, but Keller is wild and at least Bauers has a good eye...
  12. It just feels like it since it's been since the first AB of this series... but what a terrible AB. Changes the inning. Get the guy to 3rd... with 0 outs. That's what WS teams HAVE to do on the road, down a run.
  13. Frelick has to be on the run here...even with Vaughn coming up(and it has to be Vaughn, right)...
  14. What is going on Turang? I get it's Lefty on lefty, but that was not competitive. Contreras NEEDS to come through here!
  15. Maybe. It's kinda been a toss up vs righties. They're both have a ~.580 OPS vs RHP. Offense has to put some pressure on the Cubs and Tallion this inning.
  16. Ortiz HAS been on twice in each of the first two games. I'm not confusing him with Derek Jeter, but... he's battling and looks alright. We really need Turang and company to throw well.
  17. Yeah, I don't know... that one I don't really get at all. I'd rather see Collins in RF and Frelick in CF if you want to get a RHed bat in there. But I guess we're not comfortable with Frelick in RF?
  18. I definitely do not know any such thing.
  19. Yeah, I'm not alll that concerned about the INTC part of the equation, that was just another kinda abnormal action. The Govt' taking a stake in American Companies? But that's not what I'm concerned with. I'm not even really all that concerned, but it's more with NVDA investing in it's clients in the DC market... it's clients investing in AMD... that CAN be a sign of a bubble... or they just really believe in OpenAI...
  20. Well... of course it comes down to the players executing more. We've managed games perfectly and lost with Hader giving up multiple runs in multiple playoffs on walk-offs to lefties or with Devin Williams in to close out games. But... the manager puts them in the position. He trusted Misiorowski because we DESPERATELY needed someone to come through for us and take up some of Woody's innings. Even in Football where scheme matters and has a bigger impact on a game, it's still about the players executing. Phil Jackson isn't winning rings with George Hill, Gary Trent Jr and Royce O'Neal in the triangle. But it's hard to say Murphy hasn't pressed the right buttons when... ALMOST everything he's going with is working... almost perfectly.
  21. I don't get how. It worked... to...perfection. If Misiorowkski struggles. Well... he didn't. And if he does, they bring in Patrick who was dominate earlier. Ashby was also squeezed badly. In fact, it was one of the worst umped games of the playoffs and I thought 9 of the 10 calls that were the worst were against the Brewers. He threw a CB that was middle and EASILY caught the top 3rd of the zone and it was called a strike in a 1-1 count that would have made it 1-2...which completely changes the outcome. What if... is a game you can play at ad infinitum. Coming into the game I thought... do not limit Ashby. People were saying "save him for Gm3." I didn't agree, I thought he'd pitch well... and he pitched alright. They hit a 3R HR on a ball out of the zone. That's... just a great piece of hitting, but he could have been out of that inning. -If Vaughn doesn't hit a 3R HR, they win the game 4-3... -If Mis struggles, you go to Patrick earlier and he was throwing 98, hitting his spots and had really good movement. -If the Brewers don't jump out to a 4 run lead, they're very likely running when they got a base runner like Durbin, Ortiz, Turang...instead, they d✅idn't try and manufacture a run. But here's what decides if it's a master class... it's really the same as when you're a play caller in Football. Did it work? -Ashby gave up 3R HR. Didn't work.❌ -Mears came in(again, one of the worst missed strike calls)-Got out of the 2nd ✅ -Misiorowski was overpowering and the Cubs were just completely outmatched.✅ -Patrick-Again, dominant and still fresh for Gm3.✅ -Koenig threw a nice 7th inning AND came back and got the Cubs best hitter out to start the 8th.✅ -Megill... who has 1 appearance in the last... what, 6 weeks, he came in and got two easy outs. ✅ -Uribe.. who also hadn't pitched in 8 days and even before that, hadn't pitched much.✅ -Trusted Chourio- He put them away with the 3R HR. ✅ You save your CLEAR #2 pitcher for Gm3 vs -✅ Most importantly, Brewers up 2-0 AND SHUT THE CUBS DOWN✅✅ If you're the manager and nearly button you push... is the right button... I don't see how it's anything BUT a master class! Also, I really doubt he's planning on going with Quintana after Priester in a "stack" game. That...doesn't make any sense. A lefty starter, that made sense. They have their two best hitters #1 and #3, both of whom are lefties. So if he choose to go with Koenig to start this game, that'd make sense. I don't think he will, but it'd make sense. You have to be ready for a Gm4 if needed though, and I only see Quintana coming in if Priester struggles.
  22. Any idea why some of these guys who have agreements don't sign? I'm looking at Jeremy Denaud, considered the 9th rated prospect a couple years ago by BA and tied to the Blue Jays or Jensy Rivas, another highly touted IFA who was supposed to sign with the Mets? Are these deals that tenuous that... if a deal falls through(I know the Blue Jays had to trade some IFA money a couple years ago for... Bassit maybe) that.. teams lose interest and these guys are just kinda out of luck? I know Raymel Ortiz was accused of lying about his age... and there was another 3B who was a top ~3, maybe the top prospect who agreed to a deal for 4-5M that was negated, but... what's up with the rest of the players? 3 others from the top 50 unsigned?
  23. I know, you already said.
  24. Well... it's not a crazy question when someone is on like... 5 straight years running of "The Packers could take last in the division," and every game talks about how they're going to lose almost no matter how well it's going... It's not like I'm asking @adambr2who he's a fan of because he is a bit...pessimistic. I know he's a Packers fan. But when everyone else has them in the top 6-7 still... after a couple of really flukey games they went 0-1 in after beating the team that'll have it "wrapped up" SO early it'll be...week 17, it's an honest question.
  25. Well, again, I didn't expect it(don't expect it)... I was just saying I don't think Mis is "down" for Gm3 because of his innings pitched in Gm2. And I don't we're anywhere near seeing a "typical" outing from him. I love the kid, I'd sign him long term... but he's still the same guy who can lock you down as he can go out there and walk 4 guys in an inning. He was probably 2 balls away from the BP getting up when he walked the... first batter and then got down 2-0 to the next(I think he ended up walking 2 that 3rd inning, but he came back from 2-0, got a K and then the ground out. Point is, I think he's got a short leesh but the potential to give us... almost bulk pitcher type innings if he's on. He could easily be the X-factor for us this post-season. He and Patrick.
