    We went and got some shirtsies. We don't have anything Weeks or Axford, and we liked the gold uni's. It helped that September's STH deal is 15% off anything (non-game used) at the store. So we picked up shirtsies of players we liked and didn't have in a color we liked and didn't have for $25.50 each. We'll wear them at the game and hope for a prize, but aren't expecting anything. This is a way for the Brewers to get extra sales. A saleperson had to explain to one guy who Axford was. And had to reiterate that he was not a starting pitcher. P.S. We ate at Friday's for dinner (since we were right there at 6:30 last night). The Vanilla Bean Cheesecake is great. I recommend it as a dessert to anyone that goes there.

    Furcal's career line is .282/.348/.407 In 22 games against teams not named the Brewers as a Cardinal, he's .202/.253/.288. In 11 games against the Brewers as a Cardinal, he's .289/.353/.578. Only an uptick in Slg compared to career norms, which isn't significant in 11 games. He's hit an extra HR and 2B over a "normal rate". He has not "killed the Brewers" like our eyeballs believe he has.

    They probably also simulate based on expected win percentage. The magic number assumes the leader has a 0% chance of winning and the team behind has a 100% chance of winning. It's mathematically possible for the Brewers to go 0-fer the rest of the year. It's very probable (rounded to 100%) that the combination of Brewers wins and Cardinal loses add up to 11.

    It is a judgement call by the ump on which it hit first. It would be a dead ball either way. If it hits the finger first, the ball is immediately ruled dead and a strike is issued. It doesn't matter what the ball does after that (hit the bat, go into fair territory, pop up that is caught, etc). This is a strikeout if there were already two strikes. If it hits the bat and then the finger, it is just like any other batted ball that hits the batter. If he was still in the box and it was unintentional, it is immediately called a dead foul ball. This is not a strikeout if there were already two strikes, unless it was during a bunt attempt.

    I'm in the 4th row right next to Fielder. He sat at first, then realized that he's the cutoff man to home. He ran and missed the cutoff and just stood around the middle of the diamond for a while. Molina started running back to first, and then Prince went to first. I blame Prince for not being in a better cut off position. And for no one to yell at the cut off man to go to second.

    "Hands are a part of the bat" is a myth. Even the umps say so. MadScientist is right, RRR should have argued for just a strike, dead ball, and a continuation of the at bat. But it's just like a "check swing". There is no rule that says there is a check swing. Only whether the batter swung or not. So all of the "bat crossed the plate", "wrists broke", etc are just wrong. But everyone (including the umps and players) act like it's in the rules.

    I usually see final pitch and could get to my house in Cudahy around the time Provus is replaying the highlights of the game. Now I'm in Germantown and get home around 30-40 min after last pitch. If I told everyone here how I do it, it wouldn't be a secret anymore. My secret used to be Layton to 43rd all the way up, but too many blowhards (cough Beling cough) kept pimping that route on radio that it is no longer a quick route. Canal is quick when coming from the east, but too many people are talking about it and it is starting to become crowded. I think it's just because the Brewers are finding so many ways to win late, no one wants to leave early anymore. And I hate those parking attendants. I will be in a lane with other cars and they will actually jump in front of my car to try to wave me into a fuller lane. Before they took over all of the exits to the lots would be opened and it would be easy to exit. Then they barricaded the exits. Then they padlocked the barricades in place. Now it takes longer to get out because you can't use half the exits that were designed for the lots. Yet they have people standing around doing nothing, so I can't see how it saved them anything.

    Seriously stop posting this Bear crud! I understand the superbowl 20 score because he's been posting the scores for a while now, but this is just junk. Reminds me of all my classmate I went to school with in the mid 80's that were bear fans because they were good at the time but look like idiots now because they didn't stick with their home state team.     You can say the same thing about the Milwaukee franchise. We were told that we couldn't keep our good players until we had a new stadium. I'm on the fence about resigning Prince, I was just pointing out that the new stadium doesn't mean buying high priced free agents.

    They aren't making another Kotor, they are making another Galaxies. I doubt it will allow a pause between combat rounds. I'm sure it will be another click fest RPG-lite.

    I will be getting Skyrim. I can't wait for it. Please keep multiplayer out of it. Mass Effect was the most disappointing video game purchase I ever made. It was nothing like Kotor or Jade Empire, and more like "Halo With Talking". I forced myself to play for three hours before admitting that I didn't like any of the gameplay. It was made worse when BioWare decided to make more of ME but not the other ones.

    My 2 bedroom apartment's energy bill was more than I'd ever paid for my four bedroom house. It was just super hot, needing the AC's to work really hard all day and night.
