  1. Not particularly exciting but I didn’t have high expectations in the first place.
  2. And Rowdy and Anderson returning from injury doesn’t count.
  3. If we trade anyone in our top 5 (including Black), I assume it will be for someone substantial who has years of control.
  4. Who’s not on the 40 man that could possibly get the call? Black?
  5. I would consider Abner Uribe sort of like a bullpen acquisition without having to give up anything to get him. Justin Wilson as well. I just don’t want to utilize any of our resources to acquire bullpen arms when our offense desperately needs an upgrade, other than Frelick.
  6. Just a reminder that Black was in the same draft class as Frelick and is only a few months younger. I know the defense is still a work in progress but it almost seems comical at this point that Black is still in AA.
  7. Last year, Garrett Mitchell was promoted to Nashville on August 2 and then to Milwaukee on August 27. Perhaps Black is on a similar timeline.
  8. What’s odd is that Black only had 13 SB all of last year so not sure what the difference is this year.
  9. Focus all of your resources on bats - no more relievers at the deadline please. The bullpen is fine.

  11. If Frelick doesn’t turn things around quickly in Nashville, we could probably use an upgrade in RF too.
  12. Yeah I think I’m starting to lean toward the Angels not trading him, even if they do get a pretty good offer. I think they’ll take their chances and try to resign him in the offseason.
  13. He could replace Winker as the DH and easily top his production. Plus, he can be a terror on the base paths. I think I’d to it too but the Brewers won’t, unfortunately.
  14. Well that was a crazy, quick promotion! Never did make it over to Appleton to see him pitch. Oh well.
  15. Sellouts just about every game I would imagine. It would be absolutely nuts in Milwaukee for two-plus months.
  16. Just for fun, what you all be comfortable with giving up for two months of Ohtani? I’d probably do one of Frelick/Black, one of Gasser/Rodriguez, Luis Lara and a lottery ticket.
  17. Yeah I understand the people management aspect to it but isn’t it just opening up a can of worms for Arnold? Should every Brewer be able to go ask Arnold if they’ll be traded and he has to give them a definitive answer? That really puts Arnold in an awkward situation if for some reason he ends up getting some outlandish trade offer for someone he already told wasn’t getting traded. I’m a huge Burnes fan but I don’t think he should have done that to Arnold and I don’t think Arnold should have answered him the way he did. Just my opinion.
  18. Maybe it’s just me but I find it a little strange that Burnes asked Arnold that question and that Arnold gave him a definitive answer. I mean, what if some team offered up some ridiculous package of players for Burnes or what if the Brewers went on an awful losing streak to close out July? Arnold should have just given Burnes the same answer he would have given the media had they asked the question. Just a weird situation.
  19. How do you add meaningful pieces to the offense without giving up significant prospects? Arnold has his work cut out for him.
  20. Best news I’ve heard in awhile!
  21. It’s going to be an insane bidding war for Ohtani this offseason. I can only imagine the type of money that will be thrown around.
