  1. Speaking more broadly - maybe. I could see someone having a good week/month swaying the process, but strictly speaking, whether you hit a homer the day before is going to have almost zero effect. You're going to plan out off days in a way to ensure your goals for rest and playing time are met across the team, not making it up day by day.
  2. What someone did yesterday is almost never going to play into a lineup decision.
  3. That's a reasonable guess at their rationale, yeah.
  4. It's still going to be mostly Hoskins and Bauers. Black would probably be sitting today regardless. When Yelich is DHing this is a potential lineup regardless of Black being here or not.
  5. Sorry, but that's not going to go over any better.
  6. Generally I think you're never going to get a 2B to throw to first instead of second unless they're right there, but your statement seems to argue against itself. If the chances of a double play are nil, then certainly you get the lead runner. You'd have to very intentionally be aware of runner speed and decide ahead of time you were going to try 1B first, and that's probably too much to keep in your head when you get a grounder and have a split second to decide what to do. I was wondering myself if Turang's arm was to blame, as you can see the difference when Willy relays vs him, but it sounds like it's the balls to Turang that don't get converted, not vice versa.
  7. I think he was referring to the language specifically and the sheer volume of cussing happening in that exchange.
  8. D'oh. Stilll, assuming the worst and ascribing intent vs posing it as a question ("It seems like you're implying X, is that what you were trying to say?") is not going to lead to productive conversations.
  9. I dunno, his BA has taken a huge nose dive, from .553 at A+ to .356 in AA. ;) Half of his hits in AA have been doubles or triples.
  10. Really? The point was pretty self-evident - when you're scoring a ton of runs a game you're going to have good results. I think it's a stretch to turn that into some backhanded insult on the state of their pitching.
  11. I think we need to give officials more credit than that. I don't think it's ever that cut and dried, and every fan base complains about the calls that don't go their way.
  12. Scroll for discussion on this play. :) In one of the angles you can see the hand comes up in the air, it never actually touches the plate. If it were on the ground he's certainly safe.
  13. You're right, I skimmed over that the first time I read it, but that's his version. That said, he's probably editing it down if anything, it sounds like Uribe acknowledged he ran his mouth a little. It's still not clear to me exactly what his problem was.
  14. It was in the brewers.com article: Siri asked him why he bumped him, and Abner said "because I felt like it." So basically just young kid being stupid.
  15. If you expected it to be quick I think you had unrealistic expectations. There was just a blurb yesterday that he's started playing long toss and is feeling pretty good, but is taking it slow. That's absolutely the right approach at this point in the year, especially with the team continuing to do well.
  16. Yelich. Let's get our star player's name right.
  17. Let's keep this on Miley and actual replacements. Regardless of whether you're in favor or violently against, it's clear at this point that teams are staying away from Bauer.
  18. Alright there's your lead, Freddy, let's make it hold up.
