  1. Well sure, let's just remove the games everyone plays against bad teams and get a new adjusted record. Of course they're going to have a worse record when you remove those wins. That's what makes them a better team than those teams. 2 games under .500 is definitionally mediocre. They're in the middle of the NL. They can't be lowly if they're in the middle. They may not be great, but it's a stretch in my mind to malign them as "lowly" when that implies there's no middle tier - just playoff teams and the "lowly" rest of the league. Regardless, we can all agree no one expected to have a 6-7 game lead on the rest of the division at the break.
  2. Look at the content of this thread. It's almost exclusively posts about actual roster moves.
  3. The Pirates are not lowly, and arguably the Nationals aren't either. They're roughly .500 like the majority of the NL.
  4. This doesn't relate to 40-man roster updates.
  5. On the other hand, who needs starters if you have a bullpen full of elite relievers? Every day's a bullpen day!
  6. All the LOL's are unnecessary, but whatever. But you're pretty much the only person who ends a number of your posts with SMDH, which is just internet shorthand for "you guys are stupid and I can't believe you disagree with me." Just leave out the condescension and debate the issue.
  7. Someone please just put a bat on a ball.
  8. Or just get him to throw it away and get to 3rd.
  9. What about his starts makes you think that would be the case?
  10. Sal quietly over .270 now, almost .300 over the last 4 weeks.
  11. With another couple hits Bauers could have a higher OPS than Hoskins, and isn't that far away from Willy.
  12. Can you use some spaces between your punctuation? It's hard to read.
  13. Late to chime in on this, but searching "contreras concussion" will return multiple headlines about Contreras avoiding a concussion.
  14. Except Turang was terrible because he sold out for launch angle and wrecked his swing. Sal just hasn't been very good at hitting the baseball. Obviously the broader analogy could still be apt - players can grow and adjust and get better, and hopefully Sal does that too.
  15. This doesn't completely refute the point, as these are season stats, but I heard this the other day and was unpleasantly surprised how bad Frelick has been this year. - He's dead last in barrel % of all eligible MLB hitters - He's dead last in hard hit % of all eligible MLB hitters - He's dead last in exit velocity. He's quite literally been the worst starter in Major League Baseball at hitting the ball.
  16. That's a shame: Imanaga got tagged for 10ER, 3IP.
  17. This whole exchange is odd given that as BrewerFan pointed out you are in complete agreement. Back to the scheduled discussion...
  18. Both of you can calm down the typical internet outrage and condescension. Just enjoy having a debate about ideas.
  19. If you're going to make sky is falling posts in the first inning and act like you don't even like watching the game, you're going to get called on it. If you find it obnoxious, then there's an easy fix.
