  1. I get the idea, but it seems like something where a lot has to go right and it can easily lead to a run if either throw isn't executed perfectly. To me it's not worth it the vast majority of the time.
  2. Love the comments from Turang and the staff. I'm sure this isn't unique to the Brewers, but they're thinking so deeply about everything.
  3. Or, we could've just let Myers keep pitching.
  4. Or not?? I don't understand why Hudson is in here.
  5. With a small lead though, you're going to have someone throwing just in case it goes south in a hurry. I'd guess he gets at least one more, maybe 2, if he continues crusing. Then Megill to lock it down.
  6. Why are major league catchers throwing to second in that scenario? Like ever?
  7. At some point someone's going to get a hit with RISP and 2 outs, right? Right??
  8. Myers on track for another 8 inning outing.
  9. I think this would easily be more legitimately devastating to the clubhouse than Hader supposedly was (and probably wasn't). It would also lead to a casual fan revolt too. The only scenario it's palatable is a legit stud pitcher who helps right now.
  10. You started this same thread in the Majors forum, where it probably makes more sense.
  11. One of these teams is not like the others. I think we're lumping ATL in out of habit, but they're not the juggernaut that Phi is. They should be talking about how they're going to get past LAD/Phi/Mil
  12. Yep, 2.9 bWAR, just behind Ohtani (3.0).
  13. Which of those losses are you chalking up to Counsell rather than the fact they just aren't that good?
  14. D'oh, good point. I would expect we'll see Ashby back at some point given how he did this time.
  15. Just to clarify - you're saying the team that currently holds the 2nd wild card is going to be selling? Their relation to last place is completely irrelevant.
  16. I assume we'll see Ashby back in 4 days. I wonder if he even goes to Nashville or just heads to Milwaukee.
  17. Looks like it's Myers, who's back up (Junk down) with Gasser's move to the IL.
  18. Um, yes please. I was going to say #3 seemed more fair until I saw it was for Crochet AND Fedde.
  19. It seems to me if this series changed your impression, maybe you thought Milwaukee was the top team in the NL? I don't really care about the sweep, what's important is that these were three very close games that a hit or single pitch going a different way could have altered the game. I will say this series did impact my impression of Ashby - he's apparently way closer to being back than I thought, given he was pretty much of a mess in AAA.
