    Wait, how can he have 58 PA vs LHP and 77 PA vs LH Starter? In any case, neither of the sample sizes for those players means anything at this point. MiLB numbers would be more instructive.

    They committed tens of millions. They're not paying him much at all this year. The fact that they're responsible for paying him 20M in 8 years isn't going to affect where they think the best spot in the lineup is. But yes, that is a sign that they think he's for real and doesn't need to be protected/coddled.
