But you can count on one hand how many hitters sit near a 1.000 OPS year in and year out. I cannot be disappointed in a player hitting at a .917 OPS clip for the majority of the season especially if he has a big finish that offsets that slow start and he ends up over .900 for the season.

 

Isn't it great that we can argue about whether a .900 OPS for one of our players is a disappointment and how we're upset that he's not a 1.000 OPS player like he was last year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

 

In the last two games I have seen people on the in-game thread complain that (a) Fielder's OPS is not 1.000 and (b) Braun lacks something in strike zone management. As someone who has followed the Brewers from Paul Householder through Alex Sanchez, let me say this is a great time to be a fan of this team!

This is probably the most fun I've ever had watching a game against the Cards. Usually I spend all 9 innings worrying about a late-inning implosion.

A win tomorrow by the Crew and the Cardinal's chances of making the playoffs are not looking good at all.

Just 30 pages of Cards fans and Cubs fans cutting each other down. It was pretty boring. I don't even know if anyone was watching the game.
