I guess it comes down to what is statistically more likely throughout history, the odds of one of three straight .250 hitters getting a base hit vs the odds of plating a runner from third with one out.

I'd guess the odds would be in favor of latter. With a runner at third, the runner could score on a sac fly, wild pitch, squeeze play, bobbled ground ball, etc. It definitely puts more pressure on the pitcher and fielders.

Historically, there is a 66% chance of scoring with a runner at 3rd and 1 out.

At least one of three straight .250 batters will get a hit 58% of the time (although considering walks, errors, etc. the real odds are probably 60-70%)

Absolute joke from top to bottom with this organization. Axford has gone from dominant to soon to be retired, Roenicke inexplicably sending him back out for the 11th inning despite getting crushed in the 10th, and Melvin for this happening YET AGAIN. How many years in a row is our closer going to completely implode? Axford already was pretty bad last year yet NOTHING was done to address this.

Just a horrific start to what will likely be a very very long season

I'd normally have a different response to this statement on 4/7 but looking over the roster, I can't argue with it. Depressing.

Why, oh why after Axford pitches an inning where two guys take him to the wall, would he be allowed to go out for a 2nd inning?

Is it only the fans that can see what is going to happen next?

This is just another reason why I can't stand our manager. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on... One thing after another.

Why did RRR put Turnbow2.0 in the game when its a tie? Is he the only one in the world that didn't know exactly what was going to happen? Please talk me off the cliff brewerfan.net smart people. I just don't see RRR pulling Axford unless he gets injured. I've never hoped for an injury for anyone, especially a Brewer, but........

Just when I thought we couldn't sink any lower, we get Lohse with the game on the line. Awesome.

I have never seen a starting pitcher called in as a pinch hitter to win the game. I am sure it has happened before but not in the 11th inning...

That was just awful by Weeks.
