Often the first pitch will be a great pitch to hit because the pitcher almost always wants to throw a strike.

But you have to imagine pitchers know Estrada wants to hack away and aren't going to keep throwing typical first pitch material to him, considering the damage he's done with likely first pitches in the past.

I dunno, this year he has an .883 OPS on the first pitch. For whatever reason thats just the pitch he does best on. He is just dreadful when behind in the count.

21-34 on the road after today. LOL. Seriously? A team with Braun, Gallardo, Prince, Sheets, Capuano, Suppan, Hall, Hart, Hardy, Cordero, Turnbow, Linebrink, and others is 21-34 on the road.

This is ridiculous. This team has so much talent. And it's all going to waste.

36-44 since the hot start. I mean, are you kidding me? We seriously just played that badly over the last 80 games? That's a little more than a slump, folks. That's half a season.

But hey, at least we're in first place!

5 times in 11 days this team has blown a lead of 3 runs or greater. That's not just improbable, that should be damn near impossible.

I have to take a hiatus from watching or listening to the games, there's nothing fun about watching when you're up 5 or 6 to nothing, and still feel like you have slim/no chance to win.

Is there some kind of rule that says you can't put in one of your best reliever in a critical, game-on-the-line situation just because its only the 6th inning? What would the score be right now if Turnbow, Linebrink, or even Shouse came on in the 6th? NOPE ITS ONLY THE 6TH WE HAVE TO PUT IN OUR CRAPPIEST PITCHER*

edit: oh darn we're losing better put in spurling we can't win now no-sir-ee

*nothing against Villanueva, but he has been bad lately.

Dear Matt Wise,

We'resorry for the traigc loss of your baseball ability. We know you were a close friend of being able to pitch since childhood. We didn't know your natural talent as well as you, but now that it is gone we all feel the impact winning ball games used to have on our lives. I hope your new career finds you well after thf funeral,

sincerely,

Dear Offense,
Awesome work putting up six whole runs in two games in Colorado. Whether it's starting off a game with a small crooked number only to do nothing for the rest of the game, hitting like trash with runners on base, hitting like rotten trash in clutch situations, or finding ways to only hit home runs with nobody on, it's good to know I can always count on you to be truly and utterly disappointing.

Always,
U. R. Crappy

I really dont even know what to say anymore. This team wasnt able to beat the likes of Washington, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati on the road so why should we expect them to beat a good team like Colorado. Lets face it the 24-10 start was a complete and utter fluke. This team just isnt any good. The pitching sucks from the starters to the relievers. Can a starting pitcher ever get through 6 or 7 innings? The bullpen has been so overworked its disgusting. We have completely ruined Villanueva for the year by pitching him 4 days a week and having him warm up the other days. We may as well shut him down for a few weeks since he looks so bad right now. The offense also sucks and we only score when Braun or Fielder hit a home run. Defensively I cant imagine a worse team. This season is completely going down the drain and our only salvation is the Cubs suck also. Losing every game on the road is completely unacceptable. If this team cant win this division this season when will they ever win? I am so frustrated at this point I dont even know what to say anymore. I go into every game expecting to lose. At least we only blew a 3-0 lead this time instead of 5 or 6-0. This team is just pitiful at this point. Dont know what more I can say.

I don't know what happened to this team. There is no way I can believe this is the same type of team as previous years. They have too much talent. What is going on?

Psch, Playoffs.

It seems they are also more worried about limiting innings for Parra and Gallardo - who happen to be pitching the best out of the entire rotation for now.

This is just an amazing mess.
