GormanHarvey obviously wins....BUT someone was the first to mention the angels and specifically Segura two months ago back on page 1.

I don't think Greinke is bringing in either Profar or Machado. Obviously you make that phone call (if and when it comes to that about a month from now), but I don't think you'll have a taker on the other end. I don't see those guys getting traded for a half season of a pitcher (even if that pitcher is awesome). if you insist on a SS, I think you have to move down the list a little bit and look at a guy like Jean Segura (if the Angels can get their heads above water, there's a lot of pressure for them to make the playoffs. holy cow imagine that rotation) or Andrelton Simmons (although I don't see the Braves looking to deal for pitcher, barring injury). The Red Sox have two solid prospects in Bogaerts or Iglesias (although his bat may never come around) and could use a starter. Not suggesting a 1 for 1 swap of Greinke with those guys, I just think they're more realistic targets and you can build a package from there.

Count it!!

no need to mention that I also predicted the Brewers would get back into the race. and the fact that I don't know how much I really like Segura.

Consider me underwhelmed. A young SS and two AA pitchers for one of the best Pitchers in all of baseball?? Doug had all the leverage. Maybe I'm different or would be different than most GM's. I'd get EXACTLY what i wanted, or i wouldn't deal him. It's a matter of principle. I would have wanted at LEAST two AAA arms and Segura, or one VERY good ML arm, a AAA arm and Segura.

Just based on John Sickels ratings best possible would be John Hellweg (RHP) and Daniel Tillman (RHP)

Tillman's in High-A. My guess is John Hellweg and Ariel Pena.

If the Brewers scouts think Segura can be a MLB shortstop for the next six years, hard to imagine a better return that that. Mike Olts are easy to buy, shortstops are not.

Segura?? The #78 prospect?? Doug got bent over in this one. You have one of the top 10 Pitchers in all of baseball, and you can't get minimum of a top #50 prospect?? probably more realistically a top #25 prospect?? Terrible deal. None of these guys help the Brewers win games NEXT year.

Cutting off your nose to spite your face is always a good tactic.

Looking through their Double AA team absolutely nobody on that pitching staff excites me. AT ALL.

Hellweg has been very good since he got moved into a starting role. Ariel Pena has a good upper 90s arm....most expected him to have to move to the bullpen but he's been great in AA this year as a starter. I would hope they got one of those two guys (preferrably both)....the other may be AJ Schugel who isn't that exciting but has put up solid starts all year.

Baseball America had him at #43 in their midseason list....mlb.com had him #44 in the preseason.

1) Segura was on the BA midseason top 50, so he is a top 50 prospect.

2) They're getting Greinke for like 10 starts...

Multiple people beginning to confirm the @Ken_Rosenthal & @jonmorosi report. @Sullivan_Ranger said the #Brewers asked for Olt, Texas balked.

Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal

Confirmed: Ariel Pena and Johnny Hellweg are two #Angels Double A pitchers heading to #Brewers along with Segura for Greinke.

Segura would be very nice; interesting to see everyones take on the two AA pitchers once there names are aviailable

Ariel Pena has a 2.99 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and close to 9 K/9 in AA this year. I think he would be one to get excited about.

So?? You have an asset...isn't it your responsibility to get maximum value for that asset?? Otherwise why give up the asset?? You never know what could happen.

Sickels has him at #78 in his most recent update. Was #66.

And who says Zach won't sign an extension with Anaheim??

I would have asked for Trout or told them to get bent. I will take the one pick at the end of the year. Why settle for anything less then what you REALLY should get??

Corner IF/OF with power? Not saying Mike Olt couldn't turn into a superstar, but in general his skillset is easier to buy through free agency.
