TV treasures who are still with us (and some now sadly saying goodbye since this thread began)

Yep. Ginger was sexy but far too high maintenance. I was a Mary Ann fan too. Even married my own Mary Ann (next-door farmer's daughter). :)

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

RIP Christopher Plummer

Best known as Capt Von Trapp in Sound of Music. More recently was Harlan Thrombley in Knives Out. He worked a LOT even into his late 80's.

RIP to former Wisconsin resident Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. "Screetch" from Saved by the Bell. Only 44.

Here's hoping he's found peace, but I have a heck of a time classifying Screech as a TV treasure in my mind. :ohwell

Also was on Archer as Malory Archer.

I love Archer. And she was phenomenal.

The guy who voiced her husband - Ron Cadillac on the show - was her real-life husband - Ron Leibman. He died only about a year ago. Most people will remember him as Rachel's obnoxious father on Friends.

She was terrific. I’d put the original 53 episodes of Arrested Development up against any network sitcom of the past 20 years. The rubes just didn’t get it. That show was way ahead of its time.

The other thread where you guys talk about binge watching programs, well I'm just not into it. However, if I ever get enough time in my life, two shows - "Arrested Development" and "30 Rock". Didn't get to see enough of it.

Add Yaphet Kotto to the list of those who died recently. Man, he was great on "Homicide."

Also starring with Kotto in the movie Midnight Run, Charles Grodin passed away today. One of my favorite movies of the late 80's.

Frank Bonner - perhaps best known as sales dude Herb Tarlek on WKRP in Cincinnati - has died:

He's the second core cast member lost from that show after the Big Guy, Mr. Carlson (Gordon Jump).

RIP Ed Asner

Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant, Santa Claus in Elf

I’ll always remember Ed Asner from Elf (hard to believe that movie has been out for 18 years).

He also voiced Carl Fredricksen, the old man, in Disney / Pixar’s Up.
