TV treasures who are still with us (and some now sadly saying goodbye since this thread began)

RIP Ed Asner

Mary Tyler Moore Show, Lou Grant, Santa Claus in Elf

Was a villain in El Dorado, a really entertaining John Wayne western and I think I recently saw him in Cobra Kai. RIP

"Lou Grant" as well. I wished one of these oldie channels would show a few old episodes. They show all the other retro shows.

Yup. He was Johnny's step dad. Played a big time jerk.

I'll remember Ed Asner as one of the best ever big screen Santa clauses from Elf. A silly, kinda goofy movie, but Asner played his role with panache and gruff and sincerity.

Awww... I loved Quantum Leap and Al. They brought him into an episode of Enterprise to pair with Scott Bakula (Captain Archer/Sam Beckett on QL) again. He also played a regular bit role in Buck Rodgers TV series. I'm sure many others, but those were the ones I remember off the top of my head.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

It is so on-brand for 2021 to take Betty White from us on the last day of the year.

OR ELSE...it's on-brand for Betty to have had the last laugh, passing just as People magazine's cover story touting her 100th birthday came out.

Allen Ludden, her husband, was a Wisconsin native and is buried in Mineral Point, a small town southwest of Madison.

Can you imagine if Betty gets laid to rest with Allen? I don't know that the chances are great, but they are not yet zero.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

While we did lose F-Troop's Corporal Agarn today, Larry Storch, let's bring this thread back to its original title by indicating TV treasures who are still with us:

I was too young for F Troop, but I remember Larry Storch on pretty much every ensemble show from the 70's.

Both Henry Winkler and one of the housing brothers died today.

The Fonz? I think he's still alive.

I deleted my post. Looks like both The Foz and the Property Brother are alive and well. Happy to say that the reports of their death have been greatly exaggerated. Not sure what kind of horrible, horrible site I saw that on to do this to people.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. There's still plenty of meat on that bone. Now you take this home, throw it in a pot, add some broth, a potato. Baby, you've got a stew going.

Happy 90th Birthday today to the sole Gilligan’s Island survivor, Tina Louise (Ginger).

Saying hi to two still-with-us TV moms in June Lockhart, 98 (Lassie, Lost in Space) and Marion Ross, 95 (Happy Days). They were born in June and October, respectively.

The Price is Right voice Johnny Gilbert is 99.

In keeping with the spirit of this thread - can’t believe I kicked it off more than a decade ago - here’s the link sorted by age of a glorious list of ultra-seniors, hopefully doing as well as one can, for you to review.
