Was I the only one here that went?

Probably because the Blackhawks suck which sucks being a Blackhawks fan.  Hopefully they trade Kane this year even if he doesn't want to be traded.  The Blackhawks are just one ugly mess right now.

Badgers are off to a pretty ugly 0-3 start.

Hopefully it gets to 10 or so and Mac will have no choice but to give Granato the Chryst treatment.

They redid Granato's contract this offseason and he's only owed something like $1M if they fire him before the end of the season.

Highly likely he doesn't finish the season.

He might not survive the month.

It sucks that the Badgers have been an embarrassment for so long.

On the Kraken-Canes broadcast the other night they showed the team photo of the 2009 Badgers with Derek Stepan and Justin Schultz (who were facing each other). Brought back some fond memories of the good years.

You think after winning a couple of road games maybe they were turning things around but right now Penn State skating circles around them.

They're just bad.

I was at the Saturday game against St. Cloud St.  I thought the Badgers outplayed them during the loss.  The issue is they have little offensive imagination up front.  I was also at the Penn St. game and it was tight through the first 2 periods...but again, little offensive talent.

Wonder if going into the Holiday break last place in a weak hockey conference and losing your last 3 games by like 20-4 would be enough to get Mac to pull the plug on Granato?

Why put off the inevitable.

He never should've let him get to this season. If only he took the same approach he did with football. And we're supposed to be a blue blood program...

Just gonna say- the conference isnt weak. The other 6 teams are in the top 17 in the pairwise. With that said, Granato has to be done at Wisconsin after this year.

Until a Big ten team actually wins the national title I'm going to view it as a weaker conference.

That's fair, but the tournament is basically a crapshoot and teams change year to year - especially in this time of transfer rules.

The NHL season as been pretty interesting so far but over the last few weeks it seems like the preseason favorites are starting to rise to the top. Buffalo is back in last place. Some of the other surprised like New Jersey, Seattle, and Detroit have struggled in December.

My BIL is a huge Caps fan, he said their entire offensive strategy is designed around trying feed Ovechkin the puck to get him that goals record (as opposed to trying to win as many games as possible). But given how much he's been scoring lately, they are actually winning games.

Yea, the Caps are an interesting team to watch.  They have gotten better since theyve seemed to feed Ovi.  I have also noticed he is always on the ice with the empty net.  I am not sure that would be happening if he wasn't chasing the goals record.  Bucci has long since called for Ovi to overtake Gretzky, so it is kind of fun to see it winding down.

Any chance he gets to 1,000?  I don’t follow hockey enough to know career length, what he has in the tank, etc…

Looks like it would take 5 or so more years.

He has been averaging about 40 goals a season.  If the strike and COVID shortened seasons wouldn't have happened he would be closer to Gretzky now.  He could play into his 40's and get between 15-20 a goals a season then.  I think he catches Gretzky but without those lost seasons he probably could have reached closer to 1,100 goals.

Ovechkin is by far the greatest hockey player since Gretzky and the media really doesn't even care about Ovechkin getting close to Gretzky at all.

He could, though I think it will be tough.  The guy rarely gets hurt, so that helps, but I'd imagine 2 years to catch Gretzky and then he might look to hang it up, but it's hard to tell with guys like him and Jagr.

Not sure what Macintosh is waiting for with regards to Ganato.

I seriously doubt he's going to turn things around in the next month considering the way things have went the rest of his tenure.

Good person..... Really bad hockey coach.

I am sure it has more to do with the timing - end of the season and all.  I am guessing we will hear rumblings and then a dismissal after the season is over.
