In this particular instance there was no reason to take him out. None.

 

 

I'll just toss out the reminder that opponents OPS - 1.245 against Suter the third time through. Why chance it when you went out and got Swarzak to get you three outs?

Maybe it was 80, maybe 90. We'll find out after the game I suppose.

 

At least Swarzak managed to not blow the entire lead.

Suter's been very good. Only 82 pitches to get through 7 is impressive. If the rotation is healthy we're in good shape there; just have to deal with the dumpster fire of a pen.

That would be the one thing that would change my mind. I can't imagine why his pitch limit would be that low though.

Two-run swing there: Baez hits the hanging slider out for a home run; Shaw hits a hanging curve for a long strike. Flop those two, and the game looks way different.

 

Not to mention the two run HR taken away from Braun.
