Santana moves around like a dinosaur out there in right. Just so slow.

And Bell should have struck out 4 pitches earlier and instead is standing on 3rd with nobody out. The poor job these umpires do is affecting games and pennant races, folks. Plain and simple.

Bad umpiring has plagued the Crew all year. Do they hate the former commissioner/former owner and taking it out on the team! What could it be.

Now 6-5 Pittsburgh. Darn!

Why Frazier wasn't put on.... frustrating.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

The constant complaining about the umps is really getting old. You guys sound like little kids at a little league game thinking the umps are out to get you. Odds are, every team we play is probably getting the same treatment as we are...

And a piss poor home plate umpire makes this a 1 run game.

I suggest you go look at Bell's at bat in the third umpires have scored three runs for Pittsburgh now

Generally people here acknowledge it for both teams.

I think the reason it seems like it's so bad is batters aren't trying to protect when they get to 2 strikes anymore. Most of these pitches that are being called strikes were probably automatic swings a few years ago.

Nope, wrong, and again, there have been references cited as to why this is wrong and it doesn't all 'even out'.

Never said the umps are 'out to get us', turbo. I'm less mad at the actual umpires than the system that continues to rely on human error to decide these races when they have the technology to get these calls right. Bell should have struck out, not scored. It's not that complex.

Game by game you can probably find ones that favor one team or the other. But big pic over the whole year it balances out. That said, the increased use of the technology is just showing it so much more clearly and generally backing up the eye test of us watching on TV that these calls are bad. The technology is there, no reason not to go to it and eliminate the variable.

Been fighting back all game and all year. Need to do it again here.

ETA: Great point by Jericho, players are now taking that close call so much more now than in the past. And in a split second decision it's not an easy call to make

To be fair...i have complained on both sides. But in response that it's the same treatment...it isn't. I've posted the link to the study a few times. The Brewers are in the bottom 3rd and negative in strikes called for them. Like negative 100...whereas the Dodgers were like plus 240 strike calls...through June only.

It's clear strike zones are influencing games. If you want to believe it or not is up to you.

Love it. Knebel and I'll drive home happy!
