For the past couple decades he's been running around Hollywood trying to get work because nobody will go near him. When he joined Community I figured he'd work hard to change, being that it was clearly his last chance at redemption. But nope.

I'm bungling this story, but I guess many years ago Chevy was in a movie with a first-time director. Chevy was so difficult to work with that he made the director quit. It being Hollywood you'd normally figure quitting your first movie would be a career-ending move. But as the director tells it, he'd tell producers about why he quit his first job and they would say "No, if it was Chevy then that makes sense."

I'm sure he expected to the "the man" on Community, but the audience ended up gravitating toward Joel McHale's and Donald Glover's characters, so most storylines eventually focused on them, with some going quirky with Danny Pudi as the lead. His role after awhile was basically slapstick one-liners and being a foil for the main characters. I'm sure the way his character was written had a lot to do with his on-set behavior. The other actors didn't want much to do with him.

I'm in the middle of season 2, and Chevy is very much one of the main characters.

His part is pretty hilarious to be honest.

Such a good, creative show...

I'll have to ask my friend again for the specifics of the story.

I thought Chevy was the character that made Community good. His character provided some negativity and pessimism, and above all grounded the other characters and restrained some of their lunacy. Post-Chevy the characters just went off the rail.

My wife just discovered Abbott Elementary. I was surprised how much I liked it. It's like The Office meets Parks & Rec meets Lean on Me (with blatant Jim/Pam plot rip-off of The Office). Given Randall Einhorn's involvement in The Office and Parks & Rec, this shouldn't surprise me.

I was watching this, just cancelled it on the dvr after the last episode.

I found it more irritating than entertaining.

The principal could possibly be the most annoying character to ever appear in a sitcom imo.

She alone made it unbearable for me.

My wife watched the first episode with me, and immediately said NOPE! She is an elementary teacher, and found the entire premise so ludicrous that she didn't want to waste another 30 minutes on the 2nd episode. It took me until the last episode to be completely turned off, though I was on the fence from the beginning.

I just watched the 'Hot Ones' inaugural episode of Season 8 (You Tube) with Gordon Ramsey. Oh man. This should be considered 'Must Watch'. I nearly died laughing. Amazing stuff.

That is a classic and probably the best Hot Ones episode of all time.

Futurama is being brought back on Hulu in 2023 but the voice actor for Bender John DiMaggio may not be brought back. I loved Futurama but not sure I could love it without John DiMaggio.

I saw this morning that a production company is remaking a late-90s show named Early Edition, where a down on his luck young stockbroker played by a super young Kyle Chandler somehow got tomorrow's newspaper delivered to him every morning (by an orange cat, weirdly), and instead of using it to his advantage for monetary or personal gain, decided to use that newfound knowledge to help people. I remember really liking it as a teen, but honestly hadn't thought about that show in years. As it turns out, it isn't streaming anywhere, but I was able to find a full series (4 seasons) DVD box set pretty reasonably. Kinda looking forward to a little nostalgia. I wonder if early-40s me will have a different perspective than teenage me? LOL

Was having fun watching The Peacemaker on HBO - was bummed that it's a weekly release show...boo.

Started watching this based on your recommendation. I laugh and watch the intro every time which is pretty rare. I'm having a hard time not seeing Vigilante as Napoleon Dynamite as a Superhero.

Peacemaker season 1 was absolutely awesome. The finale lived up to all the hype and then some. Gonna be hard to follow up with a season 2 that matches the intensity.

At the same time...... man, Book of Robert Fett on Disney+ was nothing short of a let down. There were a few "hey here's some fan service!" moments scattered throughout, but the pacing, the disjointed storytelling, and the action sequences just all were flat and uninspiring. So many elements included into the show that were unnecessary to make it longer. It could have been compressed into about a 4 episode mini, and been much tighter and cleaner.

Yea, I need to finish it now that it's all done.

Yeah Peacemaker was great...even more so because the music is right in my Gen X wheelhouse.

I'm enjoying Reacher too.

Reacher is entertaining enough, the perfect series to released before the holidays as it's the sort of action flick everyone enjoys. But it's pretty much just Roadhouse, and no one will ever do it better than Roadhouse. :)

Peacemaker is easily the most entertaining show I have watched in the last year, and I watch way too much TV these days.

Watching  'Ted Lasso' for the first time and I love it. The hype is real because the characters are all quite amazingly portrayed and developed. Sad to see there is only 2 seasons to binge. LOL.

I can't understand how Nathan For You didn't get more attention or critical acclaim. It is so good.

The Dumb Starbucks episode is an all timer.

Anybody watching Severance on Apple TV? It's a slow burn but after episode 3 or so it really picks up. We love it.

Ditto. It has done a good job with its shifts from incredibly sincere to incredibly creepy (that's what the waffle party is?!)

That finale was terrific. What a time to cut to black. Season 2 can't come fast enough for me.

I see Stranger Things releases soon.  The gal and I have enjoyed the previous seasons, but it just feels like it has been so long.  I mean, those were kids when it started and I am pretty sure one of them just turned 18.

I enjoyed the first season a lot, second season not as much, and the 3rd season was just meh.  I'm not enthused to see season 4, especially after a tremendously long lay-off.

Yea - I am in a similar boat.  I will watch it because I am sucker for knowing how things end/progress.

I am looking forward to Umbrella Academy which also releases soon.  I did enjoy both seasons of that.
