This can't be overlooked. 90 wins is +18. So Crew needs a 14-12 record to get there. The other main contenders for the WC have 72 wins and would need 18 to get there. 18-10 is a very high win % for a team that is 10 over for the year.

 

Yes, 14-12 might be hard for the Crew to achieve. Or some team amongst the Phillies, Rockies, or Dodgers could get white hot like the Cards have. As of the moment though, being at +16 is HUGE!!!

I like that Stearns has added a lot of fringe value to the roster this month without really giving up anyone who is likely to make the majors much less be impactful. The team is a win or so better than at the start of the month and those wins have a ton of value with a team like this that is on the playoff bubble. The added depth is very nice as well in case of a couple of injuries.

This month as of right now has 9 games against teams over 500 and 17(!!!!!) against under 500. Those 9 games? 6 against Cubs,3 against Cardinals.

Pick up one more game vs Cubs this weekend, and it gets real interesting going into the series with them. Take 2/3 and within 2 games with lots of baseball left to be played.

The brewers if able to sweep the Cubs will again make this a race for the division but like i said continue to win series. the Cubs were very hot and it was a matter of time before they cooled off.

In the offseason, the Cubs signed Chatwood and Darvish to big contracts, while the Brewers signed Chacin and Miley to small contracts. And as it turns out, Stearns is a genius.

 

In the offseason, signed Cain and traded for Yelich, another genius move.
