Domingo made a pretty nice play in RF tonight.

Wouldn’t worry about it. It was a nice play and for some, Braun can’t make nice plays.

 

Yeah Plush! Man you are such an anti-Braun... Next you'll deny Braun is neck and neck with Trout in HR and OPS...

 

Plush is pretty anti Braun, but I do find it funny that Braun has as many HRs and more RBIs than Bryant in about 50 or so at bats.

 

Which would mean a lot more if HR or RBI were useful stats for judging a player. Bryant has an .885 OPS, 139 wRC+ and 2.2 WAR. Braun has a .770, 101 and 0.6. Bryant has been an all star level player and Braun has been a little below average.

 

Bryant has the edge in context neutral stats & is clearly the better player, but Braun has done more in the batters box to help his team win thus far this season with a Win Probability Added of 0.57 compared to 0.12 for Bryant.

Domingo is at +7 DRS & +2.9 UZR this season, so the metrics have seen him as a positive in the field to this point.

for the bryant/braun thing, no one is saying Braun is better. the initial was just pointing out the randomness of stats in small samples and that's a current quirk in stats.

I'm glad to see that even though the Brewers were collectively quaking in their boots and knew that the Cubs had their number and there was no way they could ever beat them, they somehow managed to pull through and shut them out. The fragile ego of the MLB player should have denied them the win but somehow against insurmountable odds they persevered.

Pretty sure this team bounced off the mat .. now this is where we need to swing this into momentum and take a series from the Cubs tomorrow. It’s not a ‘must win’ this early in the year but it would pay dividends as the year progresses , just like letting Chase go pitch the 7th will for him...

 

And two forgotten bullpen pieces - Williams and Barnes- you forget how electric their stuff is with JJ CK and Hader... my goodness
