Odd to see the Pirates shifting so drastically with the bases loaded. A bunt ties the game, just sayin. In so many sports you hear "take what the defense gives you". In baseball you strike out trying to pull a slider on the outer half into a huge shift... Yep, makes sense.

4 hits, but just 1 run thanks to Anderson being unable to sacrifice and then not being able to go from first to third on a ground single to right field.

In series like this it always seems like the opponent responds to every score from the Brewers. Let’s see if Anderson can avoid that today.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

you're assuming the Brewers can actually lay down a bunt.

Unable to go first to third? That was a rope from Yelich, I don't think Broxton goes first to third on that. He's meat if he tries, the Pirates have very good outfield arms. That's not at all a bad play by Chase.

Saladino has been the only bright spot this week.

Yep, he's been good. Pass on Machado for me. Just not worth what he will cost for a rental. Especially when we may just playing be for a one game WC spot

Dozier is the ideal move, IMO. Upgrade 2B. Saladino can handle SS and maybe Arcia figures it out. Not sure there is any answer for the blackhole that is C.

Shaw is a verrry mediocre player. Slowww twitch muscles. Big holes in swing. Kinda done with him.

If you're done with a .800 OPS 3B (which is top 10 in MLB among players w/at least 200 PAs), you're going to be very disappointed with baseball. I recommend you try soccer. Or badminton.

Past years Dozier, not what he's done this year. He OPS the same as Villar and gets on base less and has less speed. He would be a power upgrade, that's about it, but Miller can do that. Maybe just play Villar...

Better have someone ready here.100 pitches. Chase is done. 5 innings what does Counsell think this is 1990?

Yea, pitchers arms fall completely off these days when they go over 100 pitches. Crazy!

You have to consider sending Broxton.

Unless Aguilar is pinch hitting of course.

I’m sending him regardless. Walk Aguilar I don’t care. Yelich is up next.

When I say regardless I mean I’m not letting Aguilar decide if I am sending a runner or not.

I agree with him running, stay out of the double play.

Aguilar has had two hangers to hit, watched one and fouled one off...

So much for staying out of the double play.

Shaw has played hurt. Shaw has played with a very sick daughter. Mediocre no, streaky hitter yes. Over 50 RBIs and 17 homers so far. Not a big contract that many others have and underachieve because they don't give a damn. Shaw is a Brewer and a damn good one.

Speedster at first and three consecutive all stars coming up and two all stars ready in the bullpen to shut things down, and they can’t get it done.

I recommend you try not being condescending. I recommend that. Recommend.

Good stuff from Burnes. I'm sure there will be a few bumps a la Williams, but man can those two be huge pieces of the pen down the stretch.
