This is such a Brewers 11-3 win tonight. Just enough to get us all excited until the Sunday blues.

Actually that just made me hungry from some BBQ.

I just took the 8 available Brewers hitters with the highest season OPS's against lefties that can fit on the field all at once. Then I plugged them into Baseball Musings lineup generator (using the OBP and SLG against lefties only), and this is the best lineup the generator came up with.

1. CF-Lorenzo Cain

2. 1B-Jesus Aguilar

3. C-Manny Pina

4. LF-Christian Yelich

5. RF-Hernan Perez

6. P-Chase Anderson

7. 3B-Travis Shaw

8. 2B-Brad Miller

9. SS-Tyler Saladino

Pretty much says it all when the pitcher comes out #6 in the lineup.

Anderson still comes out hitting #6 even when adding Braun, which ends up moving guys around and eventually kicking Shaw out of the lineup (he's hitting .205/.272/.247/.518 against lefties).

So what's wrong with Shaw? Anything other than a tough lefty on the hill?

He's been brutal against LHP this year (.518 OPS). So I get it, hard to see him having much success against Kershaw.

I'd still take him over Broxton.

Guessing going against Kershaw they are placing a premium on having Keon's defense in there knowing they have no margin for error on runs allowed.

Of course having Aguilar at 3rd kind of defeats that purpose so who knows.

Broxton hasn't been as horrible as people think. No he's not hitting, but he's getting on base okay (.327 OBP). BRef actually has him at a 1.3 WAR in 40 PAs, which is mathematically amazing with his mediocre hitting line but is a testament to how good he's been defensively. I know Cain is a great CFer but it's hard not to wonder if Broxton makes that catch yesterday in the 9th if they are in opposite positions.
