2018-07-29: Brewers (Guerra) at Giants (Suarez) 3:05 PM CDT [Brewers lose, 8-5]

Ops vs lefties

Perez 712

Saladino 536

[82brewcrew82]

Aguilar end the slump today

[wildcat83]

They were just talking on the Dodgers/Braves telecast about the Cubs having 4 lefty starters. We saw 3 straight lefties from the Dodgers in that series.

Adding Moustakas makes us pretty left hand heavy. A lineup like tonight’s could be what we see during playoff series against either of those two teams.

ATTA BOY!!

As long as Braun takes advantage of the lefties.

[OnaBadger58]

Opposite field, what a stroke! Is Braun getting hot at the right time?

[markedman5]

Boom!

[jjfanec]

Braun getting hot would be huge. He has such a great swing it feels like he has to turn it around

[MrTPlush]

Some terrible PxP guy is on the verge of calling a no-hitter on national TV.

He's a big catch-22. When he gets hot, you want to play him a lot, but he's at his best when he's getting regular time off. Beautiful swing.

[Fear The Chorizo]

Boy oh boy...I know it's wishful thinking, but catching a 60 healthy game stretch out of Braun sure would be great!

[B-Train]

Short story, long —— I drove my dad 3+ hours to Miller Park to see the Crew take on the Braves on a Sunday afternoon - it was the last home game before the All-Star break. The Crew jumped all over the Braves pitching that day. Newcomb was the starter. Perez hit a 3 run jack to jumpstart the offense that day. Jesus hit 2 HR’s capped off one of the better homestands in recent memory.

Interesting that Newcomb and Perez are linked in the same thread today just as they were a in a memorable game a couple of weeks ago.

When Villar comes off the DL, do you see Saladino losing his roster spot? Unless something unexpected occurs (injury, another major trade) I don’t see both Saladino and Hernan on the roster together.

[MrTPlush]

Since Saladino has been trash on both sides of the ball he is as good as gone.

[Eye Black]

Braun mashing lefties the remainder of the season would really help balance this lineup.

[KeithStone53151]

If shaw or Perez are at 3b, that's a double for sure

[wildcat83]

Boom!

Missed it because I’m watching the stupid no hitter

Yeah, I'm hearing Sogard like platitudes (read: excuses) though.

[jjfanec]

This Giants lineup would have looked really scary 4 years ago

[MrTPlush]

Boom!

That’s silly. He wasn’t even pitching when it happened.

[PinaMadness]

Guess I ruined another no hitter?

Had it on all afternoon, just lost track of time.

8 2/3

Chris Taylor breaks it up!

[WinkelsasVsSoriano]

Man, a two-strike, two-out single through the hole between SS and 3B to break it up. That's rough. Taylor hit it hard, though, if that's any comfort to Newcomb. Edited July 29, 2018 by WinkelsasVsSoriano

This one is acceptable. It seems a worse omen to play the Dodgers after they just got no hit.

[wildcat83]

Guess I ruined another no hitter?

Probably, but I’m not mad at you about this one.

High fastball, just didn’t get it up enough.
