I’m pretty sure the only Brewer with meaningful ABs with an OPS higher than Yelich is Gyorko...and even then I’m not sure he ‘qualifies’.

Last month Yelich is still at a .871 OPS and for the last two weeks is at .922. He has been pathetic for Yelich standards...but he is still the best hitter on this team.

Goes down looking?? Urias has to be upset about that. Stearns better be too.

Yep, zero excuse for pulling Urias there. Terrible managerial decision. Urias is also a better defender than Sogard.

Whether he'd admit it or not, Counsell has a soft spot for Sogard.

The fact that his starts suddenly dropped off so suddenly makes me wonder if there were some strong suggestions made to him from higher levels.

Looks like the Brewers get good Kimbrel tonight, not the 9.8 BB/9 Kimbrel.

Too be fair he wasn't facing the most fearsome lineup and in his last at bat the pitch tracker said his first 6 pitches were outside the zone

Woodruff had a fantastic night, [sarcasm]but he just wasn’t quite good enough to qualify for a win.[/sarcasm]

Should have politely declined the DH. Career average 25 points higher than the team's this year after all. :laughing

I check in for the first time in two weeks and people are angry at Counsell.

You know what they say. Stats can say whatever you want them to say, aka stats lie.

Ok-make it look statistically like Sogard is having a good season

Sogard leads the league in walk-off homeruns in 2020.

FYI, stats don't lie. People are just foolish enough to not understand the context. For example, when stats say that Yellich and Huira are hitting "average", yet barely clearing .200...what do you think that means about the rest of the league? Not average for a normal year, yet average for this year for whatever reason.

Wow 2 defenders misplayed the same ball as it goes between them on the way to the wall and between them the way off the wall.

I’d be okay with walking Rizzo to face Contreras.

I was with you on that, seems like everyone is Sogard when Williams is pitching though.

So we are not allowed to question Counsell........ever?

If this weird season has taught us anything, it's that we have a foundation of solid arms to build around. Devin Williams's performance is making it much more palatable to accept that Hader may likely be traded for offense this offseason.

I'm about as much of a Counsell apologist as you're gonna find, and pinch hitting Sogard for Urias there peeved me.

Watching a baseball is so strange these days. You have so many innings where a ball is never even put into play. So strange. How do defenders stay on their toes??
