How was the final Viking TD an NFL catch?

Yes, he actually caught the ball, but that means little in the NFL. He caught the ball going to the ground and lost it before getting up. Isn't that an incomplete NFL catch?

I had shut the game off after he scored so this is the first time I heard of this but looks to me like he caught it and was running with it before he dived for the end zone.

Upon further review, I was probably getting a couple of the TD throws intertwined and I believe you are correct (he made a football move). The news that night showed that catch and the Thielen TD catch a billion times that night (not just in the sports but in the news and the weather). I probably interposed Thielen's diving catch with the final one.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Washington moving on from 84% career FG% Dustin Hopkins after missing a 42 yarder last week and signing.....Chris Blewitt.

I'm sorry, if you are born with this name you should not aspire to be a professional kicker.

Has there been a better Thursday night game in recent memory than Packers/Cardinals next week?

Cardinals last unbeaten team in the league. So much for the "JJ Watt only cares about money not winning" theory.

The Cards are a missed chip shot FG by the Vikings from not being unbeaten - and the Packers could pretty easily be a 3-3 team at this point dealing with a ton of injuries.

And JJ Watt can care about both money and winning - The Cardinals were a likely playoff team prior to him signing there, but if Green Bay could've offered him the same amount of money as the Cardinals did we all know he'd be a Packer. The Cardinals have the luxury of those type of significant veteran free agent splurges to fill roster gaps while their signal caller is still on his rookie deal (even if it's still for a decent amount of coin with Murray being the #1 overall pick a few years ago, a ~$9.5million cap hit for your starting QB is quite a bit different than the ~$28M one Rodgers has for this year - and that's after that restructure done right before training camp started.)

I recall one of the first thursday night football games was between the Packers and Cowboys in November - and I believe both of them had just one loss so it had huge playoff seeding implications. I think Favre had a terrible start to the game and got knocked out of it - and then Rodgers came in during what seemed to everyone like garbage time and almost won them that game.

There have probably been a bunch of other hyped up TNF games - but when the teams are still licking their wounds from playing 4 days earlier more often than not the quality of play on Thursday nights sucks.

It looks like a good game on paper but I'm a little worried about Hopkins breaking the single-game receiving record.

meh - A.J. Green will probably take too many touches away from Hopkins for that record to be in jeopardy;)

The Packers are apparently the most hated team in 6 states: MN, MI, IL, IA, ND, and SD. The Bears are the most hated team in WI, while the Cowboys are the most hated team overall:

I’ve never really hated the Bears. For me, my hated teams are 1) Vikings, 2) Seahawks, 3) Cowboys.

Sheesh what did we ever do to offend Lions fans? I don't even think I know a Lions fan, they are like across the ocean from us. I always thought the UP was full of Packer fans.

Sure, probably. And most definitely he can, he'd be silly not to care about the money. The part that I never got is those that insinuated that JJ didn't care about winning because he signed with Arizona over Green Bay. Arizona has a lot to like -- nice young team with a franchise QB.

Jealousy, probably. They've been at the bottom of the division for the past 20+ years and we've been at the top that same time period.

Remember what Yoda said:

Yeah, Favre 23-8 & Rodgers 18-5 vs DET over the last 30 years.

It's one of those one way rivalry situations. The Lions hate us for our success, and we don't care enough about the Lions to hate them.

Jamar chase had a bad preseason, but its looking like he will be a homerun for the Bengals, and with burrow those fans have something to be excited about for a while.

And Carolina falling apart after starting 3-0 and looking good doing it.

Miami, currently tied for the worst record in the league at 1-6, does not own its first round pick next year. They used it to trade up from #12 to #6 in last year’s draft. If they finish in the bottom 5, that’s a fireable offense, right?

They've really botched that golden ticket Houston gave them. The most disappointing team in he NFL so far.

CBS should just switch from Bears-Bucs to a more competitive game right now.

Not sure Houston-Arizona will be end up being much better but at least it is still a game

BREAKING NEWS: Bears majority owner Aaron Rodgers has sold his majority stake in the franchise to none other than Tom Brady. The terms of Bears ownership seem to be week-to-week in nature. More details to follow as information comes out.
