They will spend the next few days seeking "avenues to get answers."

The 1982 Milwaukee Brewers had all position players play over 130 games each. Five of those eight players played 155+ games. Today's baseball player is SOFT and you cannot change my mind.

 

Let's not forget the 1982 Brewers were probably hitting the watering hole after most of their games. Possibly before the games as well.

 

It's not worth comparing, that was a different era and the modern game is more physically demanding than it was back then. I do think the shortened 2020 season also has something to do with the abundance of injuries this year.

 

Another thing people forget when they compare today's players to the past is how much longer the games are today. I was at the game Saturday, 4 and a half hours, and that's not a crazy long game by today's standards with the average over 3 hours. That's a long time for an athlete to have to keep their body ready to go for. When this was an hour and a half to two hour a day game things like the 162 game schedule made a lot more sense.

Does anybody know how the travel worked with Taylor the past few days? The team knew he was going to get optioned on Monday so did he even travel to Philly on Sunday? Or did they bring him with just in case this happened with Yelich?

So the Brewers put 4 men on base in the top of the 1st and they score 1 run. Almost the bare minimum (1 on, DP, then 3 on = zero). Since the 1st and 2nd outs were on strikeouts they literally scored the bare minimum. That's one impressive offense...

One of the strikeouts was on a ball completely out of the strike zone. It should have been called ball 3. Probably doesn't change the outcome all that much but the umpire screwed that call up.
