Hate saying this is a must win but the next two games really are must wins.

I guess why? Sure normally the 1 or 2 seed will have an easy series but with the Nets lurking that isn't a guarantee. And the Cavs and Hawks aren't pushovers. Really the worst playoff team in round 1 is likely the Bulls.

Just don’t want them to fall down to the 4th or 5th seed.

TOR/BKN definitely seem like the tough potential 1st round match ups. Then again plenty were afeared of MIA last year & that was brooms.

Ideally they’d stay at #3 and get CHI as #6 in the first round since the Bulls haven’t really beaten a good team all year.

Random thought:

The Bucks clinched their 4th straight divisional championship tonight. Does anyone know?

Are divisions, and division championships not even really a thing in the NBA? They seem very important in MLB and the NFL. I am not even sure I could tell you who is all in the Bucks' division without looking it up.

Conference is definitely the most important and really only important entity now a days. The primary motivation the Division holds, and only one at that since there is no auto Playoff entrant for the Division winner, is it limits the travel time and distance for those 16 games (Divisional foes play each other 4x in the regular season).

Bucks, Bulls, Pacers, Cavs, Pistons

Division champs do not get a top 3 seed, unlike MLB or NFL. Therefore it is completely meaningless. You can win your division in the NBA and still possibly not get home court in the 1st round.

Nothing like continuing to trounce the Bulls...in Chicago, no less.

The Bucks signed a somewhat intriguing Playoff-oriented bench PG in Luca Vildoza. He's a very very crafty PG and is also a wee bit of a hot head - which, surely, opposing fanbases will love. At the bare minimum, he'll elevate those garbage minutes to palatable basketball for the eyes.

I don't think there's ever been a must win in the history of the NBA regular season.  Definitely none this year for the Bucks.

A team could win their division and miss the playoffs.  Divisions are only still in place for scheduling purposes.

Bucks up ten on BOS at half (no Tatum though).

TNT just mentioned the Celtics have been one of the best third quarter offenses this season & the Bucks Q3s are typically pretty uninspired so we’ll see how that goes.

Gotta imagine most of the key guys sit tomorrow with the B2B, pull out the W tonight & they might sit them for the last game too depending how seeding looks.

No Tatum and still no Robert Williams. The Celtics are a tough tough Out when healthy and fully stocked. Let's hope the Buckaroos pull this out. More importantly, let's hope the Bucks face the Bulls in Round 1. ?

With 2 games left for both of the Bucks and 76ers, and 1 game left for the Celtics, there are 15 different combinations of possible finishes between the 3 teams.

There is only 1 of 15 scenarios in which the Bucks drop to the 4 seed - lose both, C's win, Sixers win both.

The Bucks win the 2 seed in any scenario in which they win both of their final 2 games. There are 3 out of 5 possible chances for being the 2 seed if they split their remaining games, and 1 of 5 scenarios for being the 2 if they lose both. 20220408_045114.jpg.3841b7e1af721192bb76e69e4ba5cae6.jpg

I think if the Bucks win one game they can't be any lower the 3rd seed.  It is why I said the Bulls and Celtics games were must wins.  Those two wins basically eliminated them from being the 4th seed if they just win one game which should be doable against the Pistons.  The final game of the season will be meaningless and they can rest all of the starters if they want to.  I think the 3 seed would be the best as that should set them up against the Bulls.  That is a more favorable 1st round matchup than facing the 7 seed which will probably be the Nets.

With the loss today the Bucks will either be the 2 or 3 seed depending on if Boston wins or loses.  If Boston wins they will be the 3 and if Boston loses they will be the 2 seed.  I would prefer the 3 seed as that would match the Bucks against the Bulls which I think is an easier matchup than facing the Nets.

I was just going to post the same thing, Boston plays at locked in Memphis and could fall to 4 if sixers win and would have to play Toronto rather than the Bulls. They would also get home field against the Bucks in a potential round 2 matchup with a win but then are likely facing the Nets round one.

Yeah, I honestly don't think they care what seed they ended up with.  The only way it would make any kind of appreciable difference I think is if Charlotte knocks the Nets off in the play-in tournament.  Even then, as far as the Bucks are concerned, I don't think the Bulls are that much of a threat to them compared to the Nets.

And either way, they're playing the 2/3 seed in the 2nd round.

The real Bucks news, as far as I am concerned, today is the Class the organization showed allowing Jrue to play a mere 8 seconds ensuring he picked up a $306k Bonus for games played in during the regular season. You love to see it. Just top notch classy stuff.

The Bucks are going to be the 3 seed.  I don’t see Boston losing this game.  Which is fine with me.

Home field doesn’t really matter all that much in the NBA so not much of an issue being the 3 vs the 2.  I think the matchup is far better playing the Bulls over the Nets.  Even if you beat the Nets that is more than likely going to be a full 7 games.  Bulls should be done in 5 games.

I'm not too worried about the Bulls in the 1st round.

I don't love forfeiting homecourt to the Celtics in the 2nd round, who are a very good team.

3 seed worked out pretty well for us last year.  Like playing the bulls in the first round better as well.
