Yelich redemption tour starts now.

Maybe next year.

You do you. I'm rooting for the guy every single at bat.

Who isn't? We all want him to succeed. He unfortunately has not.

You literally just posted you've given up on him so I guess we start with you to answer your question.

I think [hopefully] everyone here is rooting for Yelich. BA prefaced his at bat with “Yelich has been looking for a signature moment all season.” Obviously it’s no secret he’s really struggling [from what he’s accomplished previously]. It’s tough watching him not meet his expectations, and I feel bad for him as much as anything. It’s a fun team, and it would be good to see him be a meaningful part of that success over the next two months.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Success is relative. Yelich is adding value to the team. He might not be earning his salary, but he’s not Shaw or Hiura or JBJ.

Good for you. What do you want? A cookie?

Who asked or your opinion. Again, you do you. I'm not asking you to not post the same exact thing every single IGT.

So am I, but it’s heartbreaking watching these struggles.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

No, I actually didn't. Don't put words in my mouth that I didn't say. I said I've given up expecting that he'll come through in big situations. Me saying that we are past the point of expecting that anything good will happen when he comes up in a big AB means I'm not rooting for it to happen?

Cousins has been great but has really struggled woth command in his last few appearances, it seems.

I'm still of the opinion that they didn't do enough at the deadline to address the pen.

I agree with you there, but Cousins belongs in this pen regardless of what they did.

I understand walking Soto, but if you're going to walk the bases loaded intentionally, you better throw strikes to the next guy.

I'm just not sure you can use cousins in high leverage situations right now.

I hate intentionally walking the bases loaded.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Of course, but having quality length would help in situations like this instead of having to rely on rookies in situations like this.

They have Hader and Williams and to a lesser extent Boxberger. Everyone else is a crapshoot and maybe they get it done in high leverage situations and maybe they don't.

I guess that would really depend on what you deem “high leverage.” Coming into tonight he had pitched 18 innings and allowed just 6 hits and 0 runs. Maybe he isn’t going to be your closer, but I think you trust that guy to be able to hold a lead or small deficit more often than not. He hasn’t been completely sharp the last couple of outings, but he’s certainly earned some leash at this point.

Can't have the Reds show up in town only four or five games back.

The worst it could be is 5 1/2, but I don’t think anyone here wants to see that.
