not sure why they don't just kick it

wow. Chiefs gave that away.

Watching Butker and McPherson this postseason is why I never really understood the obsession many Packer fans have had over the years with Crosby.

Like ....that's just the average modern day kicker. They're all awesome and make big kicks now. The Scott Norwoods of the world aren't good enough to even ever make a roster anymore. The modern kickers check all the boxes- accuracy, leg strength, they got it all. Sure there are the ones that flop, but those are the exception nowadays and don't last long in the league

Anyhow, thrilled to see the Bengals pull it off.

I'm wiling to watch 49ers/Rams tonight where in previous years I had ni interest after the Packers got eliminated, so maybe I'm becoming less emotionally attached. Or maybe it just because I gamble on the games.

Clan Cin made it. I've casually rooted for them since the 70s as a kid, since they were always a hard luck team.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

For sure. The Bengals have paid their dues and are much easier to root for than the Chiefs who have basically become the new Patriots of the AFC that nobody really wants to see in the Super Bowl.

If the 49ers win tonight it's like the football gods lined everything up for the Bengals to exercise every demon in franchise history.

Yeah, please no. They can beat the Rams, but if Jimmy Garopollo is a Super Bowl winning QB this season, I'll freak.

I don't know if "exercise their demons" or "they compliment each other well" drives me more insane.

49ers Bengals would be a gross Super Bowl. Much prefer the Rams

I like Patrick Mahomes (can’t say the same about his wife or brother), but I think he’s easy to root for. That said, I find it amusing that he’s stuck on 1 Super Bowl after being hailed as the next big thing. It’s not so easy now, is it?

There are a lot of guys stuck on 0 or 1 and none take the heat Rodgers does. It's a bunch of nonsense. Rodgers is, essentially, punished because he's very rarely been average enough that the Packers miss the playoffs entirely. Brees had the Saints stuck in .500 purgatory for a good bit of time, other guys like Stafford and Eli throw together a bunch of losing seasons. Even Roethlisberger has led some crappy teams that didn't make the postseason.

The end result is that Eli scraps together two Super Bowl runs for a career postseason record of 8-4. That's 8 wins in those 2 seasons and 0-1 four times. And folks pretend that is more impressive than what Rodgers has done, which, this season not withstanding, is take some really average teams to the playoffs where they go 1-1 or 0-1.

The 09 Packers went 0-1 in a game Rodgers scored 5 TDs and had 400 yards. And that team was good. They went 0-1 in a season in which he broke his collarbone and came back to win the final game of the regular season. They went 1-1 in a season in which he threw a hail Mary to force OT and then never got the ball.

I HATE when postseason records get used to compare QBs. It completely diminishes the achievement of making the playoffs, guarantees a loss every season unless you win the championship, and completely writes off terrible seasons in which you didn't even qualify.

Yeah, with Mahomes out it guarantees that Brady remains the only QB with multiple SB wins & NE remains the only franchise with multiple SB wins during the Rodgers era.

The Packers have pretty objectively been the 2nd best franchise in the NFL during Aaron's time here, which is still much more of a success than a failure in my estimation.
