So is Nathaniel Hackett going to hack it past 2022?

Probably not but I think they need to give him at least 2-years to figure things out in Denver.  It is not like he is having an Urban Meyer issue with the team.  It looks like things are just not clicking offensively for him there right now with Wilson at QB.  Even though Wilson is a veteran QB he will still need to make an adjustment(s) to Hackett's system.

I think Denver will turn it around going forward.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Huh...that's quite a bit to give up, but he's cheap and he could be a monster in that system.

Now we need to go get DJ Moore from them. And then somehow try to figure out how to either get them to restructure his deal or just not worry about his salary until next year.

49ers realize how winnable the NFC is.

We will see. They are choosing the Rams path. If they don't win it all this year or next they are in serious trouble.

I agree, its a huge risk. They have to win it all this year really. I looked at his contract. He can opt out after the season and his cap hitspikes from 690k to 12MM. I am not familiar with their cap situation but that may be hard to absorb.

That's a lot of draft capital for a guy with a contract that carries a decent cap hit for the 49ers the next 3 seasons who hasn't been able to get through half a season healthy since 2019 - boom or bust sort of move, especially considering the fact Jimmy G is still their quarterback and the 49ers have to find cap space to resign Bosa pretty soon.

They're not really. They're threading the needle, but they're not giving away assets for short term like the Rams did. They're being aggressive, but they're definitely balanced long term and short term more than the Rams.

Their cap situation is pretty healthy. Some big cap hits, but they are pretty balanced. They could create a ton of cap space by restructuring some deals, but with Lance in his 2nd year, they're fine there. They gave up a lot...but they also got a lot back. McCaffery is like a WRer/RB hybrid when healthy and I can just imagine what they're going to throw out there with Deebo, McCaffery, Kittle, Juice and company.

2023 picks-Already gave up their 1st for Lance
Third-round pick
Third-round pick
Fifth-round pick
Fifth-round pick
Sixth-round pick
Seventh-round pick
Seventh-round pick
Seventh-round pick

2024
First-round pick
Second-round pick
Third-round pick
Third-round pick
Fourth-round pick
Sixth-round pick
Seventh-round pick

Plus, good chance they end up with 3rd round picks for Jimmy G next year and...as of now, DeMeco Ryans is one of the favorites to get a HCing job. That'd mean another 3rd and a 2025 3rd.

And now likely out for the year with a torn ACL. The NFL is a tough business.

Saw that.....he looked like the steal of the draft so far.

Refs got caught chasing Mike Evans down for an autograph. Would have been an absolutely epic moment had they won.

The refs did this completely in the open with people and reporters around and Mike Evans was totally not fazed at all by it. It seems like this is something that should be at least frowned upon but nobody involved acted like this was unusual at all. So I'm curious to see what comes of it.

The answer? Apparently nothing.

Not as bad as when in 1995 an official asked for Favre's autograph before the game and gave a fortuitous call to the Packers. He never officiated another game.

I'm glad this was all resolved fairly quickly. Nothing worse than these two refs having their names dragged through the mud for two days before any facts came out.

I hadn't heard anything about this, but...it'd probably help if they gave some sort of explanation. I'd guess he was a Captain or they needed some signature for something inane and procedural that they should explain.

Honestly, I wouldn't even care if they asked for signatures. Players do it all the time, they swap jersey's. You can have a certain level of respect.

Plus, if this was this past week, wouldn't it have been coming after a sound ass-kicking the Buccs were handed? So not much reason to suspect anything.

There is probably no explanation because he was giving them an autograph, but the league figured it could easily get swept under the carpet. Why else wouldn't they explain what actually had happened or why Evans didn't come out and say what happened? That would be common sense.

Refs getting autographs is not an appropriate behavior to be having. Would it be appropriate for the dealer at the casino to hype you up and give high fives after you win a hand? Should a judge start celebrating and getting excited after a not guilty verdict? They are overlooking the game and are the impartial judges to it. Something millions is spent on weekly.

Britt Reid's sentencing hearing is today.  We'll find out what punishment he'll get for the felony DWI that permanently disabled a young girl.

Then the NFL media and fans can continue praising and loving his dad.

DJ Moore really, really, looks like somebody who needs to get away.  And, I mean, if nobody has a destination in mind, I could maybe come up with a suggestion.

The Rams were getting blown out, with a minute left, they decided to throw a screen pass to Cooper Kupp to make sure as many linemen and linebackers as possible got a chance to turn him into a pretzel. Looks like he dodged blowing out his ankle...but he is still hurt afterwards.

Pretty darn idiotic decision.
