Love’s potential is somewhere between Jay Cutler and Joey Harrington.  I don’t think the Packers will get much more than a 4th or 5th round pick for Love.

I still don’t think we have a clue what Love’s potential really is.

I’m not sure what the perceived potential of Rodgers was after the first game of his third season, but I’d bet it wasn’t future HOFer.

I thought Love looked fine. Not great, not bad, but fine. He appears more confident, and the box score GMs are going to be up in arms over the three INTs when really only one could really be on him but it sounds like the routes were wrong.

Four flat out drops, two directly leading to INTs… doesn’t instill much confidence in the youth of the receiving corps.

Otherwise, meh. Two teams going through the motions and playing backups and running vanilla blech.

You claimed in the IGT that you don't watch the NFL.  What is your opinion based on?

Oof...you can say that again.

"With all due respect, I study this stuff for a living. We are not the same."

That was in response to him just on a rant about not signing Adams and trading him away and ALL he'd do is complain about it. It was actually funny, but someone basically said, 'Peter, you're just a guy with a podcast, if you knew as much as you claimed, you'd be working in a front office.'

That one got him! And then the "we're not the same" started coming.

Anyway, Andy Herman. That guy really is just a guy with a podcast, he doesn't pretend he's got all the answers, but he's got more of them than anyone else I've seen and other than pro-Packers bias, I don't see him picking favorites and just blindly riding with them. He's the guy I want to hear about from a practice.

I don’t watch the games they are boring.  I will watch highlights and reviews those are far less boring.

Oh, as for the actual play...I don't know what route could have been run wrong, but I'm fairly certain it was run poorly. Is that a dig? There's almost no cut on the play, so it looks more like a skinny post, but then he flattens out.

I guess an option route makes sense here, but THIS was a terrible throw from Love. This is one of the throws and then the one into Winfree. Those are the two turnover worthy plays.

I'm sorry...and based on THAT is what you're forming your opinion of what Love's trade value is(We already know it's more than  4th or 5th) and his potential?

From highlights?

That's really not much different than looking at box scores to scout a baseball player.

THIS has been abundantly obvious since day 1. I made a comment about him letting it rip and firing it in there...which of course someone came back with comments about how it takes more to be an NFL QB. And yes, obviously. But these are all small changes that are encouraging. He was trying to use too much finesse last year instead of just using his arm talent.

But the biggest change has been the way he carries himself. And again, I'll go back to that throw to Danny Davis. We saw that EXACT same play so many times vs SF. Cover 0, CBs just trying to stay with the CBs until that pass rush gets home. And you knew immediately he was going to Davis(who I thought was Toure at the start of the play). He even looked him off, then came back. Throw SHOULD have been more to the outside, but your WRer has such a huge advantage there. He's looking back, the CB can't.

That play right there was the biggest sign of growth I've seen.

I'd also just add...the 49ers played guys like Javon Kinlaw quite a bit. They've got a nice D, but they were playing some starters.

I think I have an idea what his potential is. How close to that he lands is what is still just TOTALLY up in the air. Probably the single most shocking part of this camp was that Aaron Rodgers wanted Tom Clements back to help Jordan Love. I had an friend who follows throw that out there and I kinda scoffed. No chance. Rodgers ego? I can't see it. Turns out...it was true.

As for Rodgers scouting report-
Lacks the arm strength to make all the throws(no, seriously, this is what scouts said), poor mechanics, locks in on one WRer, doesn't go through his progressions. If 1st read is not there, will start to scramble.

System QB. Tedford guy. Injury concerns. Not athletic enough.

I've combined them for the sake of time and I'll not be going back and finding all the scouting reports, but I did this about 2 months ago on another Packers forum when Love was getting crushed and the claim was made the Packers fans were screaming for *RODGERS to take over after year 2 and they want Love cut after year 2.

Wow. This is huge news. All three players can be game-changers. That certainly doesn't happen too often. I sure we get that some day with a certain LT.

A bit more detail:

Quote

LaFleur did expand on the trio’s activation:

Now I say that, it’s just the next step in the process. It’s not like they’re going to be out there in team drills, but they’ll do some individual and, with them being back, it allows you to do some walkthroughs, which, is going to be, obviously, very beneficial for a guy who hasn’t played in the National Football League like Christian [Watson.] So it’ll be great to get them out there for some of the walkthroughs.

He later said he won’t rule out any of them getting playing time in the preseason, but he “wouldn’t hold my breath on that, either.” When asked if Jenkins can play Week 1, LaFleur said everything is on the table but “again, I’m not going to hold my breath on that.” He also noted that the team hasn’t made a decision on which position Jenkins will return to.

It'll be interesting to see where he's lining up when he comes back. Of course with his versatility, they could start him at LT and then move him to RT...or LG week to week. But coming off an ACL, you'd think they'd prefer to just put him in a spot and ease him back into it.

So I don't know if we can really glean much from where he's practicing...WHEN he starts practicing with the team, but if it's LT, that could be an indication they think Bahk's going to be back sooner rather than later.

He practiced RT reps yesterday and when asked post-practice what he was told by the coaching staff? “Pick a position and work on it.” ?

Yeah, I saw that he was practicing his pass pro sets from what appeared to be a RT position with the right leg back.

That COULD tell you something. But I'll be more interested to see when he's actually lining up with the 1st team and what position they have him at. "Pick a position and work on it," is the most Packers to Elgton Jenkins statement I've ever heard though.

'Eh...yeah, just pick one. You'll probably play 'em all anyway.'

I'm old enough to remember when fans were angry about them moving TJ Lang and Josh Sitton around and this was a negative with McCarthy!

-Aaron Rodgers

-Elgton Jenkins

-David Bahktiari

I got in a Super Bowl bet at 10 - 1

It would appear by most beat reporter tweets, the Packers defense absolutely dominated the Saints today in nearly all facets. The Packers offense had 'some' success in the two-minute drill. Regardless, the defense continues to do the same things: dominate. This tweet from Schneidman probably encapsulates it most:

The big question on defense for me is if they can find solid backups for Gary and Smith. It sounds like Enagbare and Kobe Jones have both flashed so far.

No way I'm laying down any money until I know that we have at least functional special teams.

Don't have to be great but they have to be at least functional and not the catastrophe that we've had for the last better part of a decade.
