Yeah , me too . I was kinda critical ( not over the top ) of the slow start , but with Yelich  squaring up on everything for now and hopefully for the foreseeable future and the other guys coming around ( to many to type ) with this pitching staff , things are looking real good. Love it!

Yelich is looking like the Yelich of old.

Or at least closer to 2018-2019.

Disappointing finish to the Braves series, for sure. But we still had a 4-2 week and get to do some more damage against our good friends the Reds starting tomorrow! And then the mediocre Marlins thereafter! Another great week of Brewers baseball looks to be in store, my friends.

I'll take Yelich becoming an elite hitter again over a series win against the Reds any day. Marlins coming up and the best pitcher in baseball is set to start us off. Leggooo

Over the long term, Yelich being closer to the 2018-2019 Yelich is good for this team on the season and for the next few years as well.

Worth dropping two of three to the Reds... and maybe the baby seal impressions Houser and Woodruff did were aberrations.

Yelich has his .OPS up to .838. Wasn't it just a couple weeks ago that we were all told repeatedly that he is now a bad baseball player/lost cause/albatross with no hope of ever being useful again? It's almost like some of these commenters have never actually watched baseball.

Or taken a look at batted-ball metrics....

Right, so you guys who dig up old posts were never concerned about Yelich? Got it.

Who is digging up old posts? There's a HUGE difference between being concerned and already having your mind made up that he was done being a useful player. You know that.

Literally no one is digging up old posts here. And I don't know anyone on this forum who hasn't been concerned about Yelich at one point or another (including me). But completely giving up on the guy and ruling out him ever becoming a productive major league hitter again is another thing altogether. There were quite a few number of people who, as late as two weeks ago, were saying such things, despite the fact that his batted-ball metrics were as good as they've been since his vintage 2018-2019 seasons.

When the pitching struggles.... the hitters come through. This team is built to avoid the long losing streaks.

Josh Hader gave up 2 runs on July 28th, 2021.

He's now at a 34 1/3 IP scoreless streak.

That's pretty gosh darned good.

Seems like the k rate is down this year for the Brewers, do the stats back that up?

I am assuming you mean the pitching staff and if you mean the pitching staff then no, it is actually better than this time last year.  2021 as of May 21st was 10.42 and in 2022 as of May 21st is 10.57.  Total number of strike outs is down though 455 in 2021 versus 404 in 2022.  The Brewers are the only team in MLB right now with 400 strikeouts for a pitching staff.  The Brewers are also best in MLB in K/9 and it is almost a whole 1 K/9 ahead of the second best team the White Sox with 9.64.  The Brewers are a whole 1.02 K/9 ahead of the 3rd place team the Mets who have a K/9 of 9.55.

The Brewers pitching staff is basically the best in MLB and there really isn't a team remotely close to the Brewers pitching staff.

Batting wise the Brewers are down about 2% from this time last year on K%.

Best start in franchise history, third best record in baseball, and yet literally nobody on the team is drastically overperforming except for Lauer (and even then I think the breakout is real even if the 2.16 ERA is unsustainable). If anything the rest of the roster is just getting warmed up. ?

Why I’m starting to think 100 wins is a real possibility with this group, particularly if they add a big bat at the trade deadline.
