The irony of that attempted jab is few managers unilaterally decide their MLB team’s lineups anymore. In the case of the Brewers there is almost certainly feedback from the front office impacting the daily lineups.

When people were evaluating our offense before the season, it seems like they forgot how young guys like Adames and Urias are and how much room for growth they still have considering they were consensus top 20 prospects...

I know Hiura is still striking out a lot (like a LOT), but he's doing enough (I think) to earn a little bit of playing time.  He's got a .750 OPS now, and in 2022, that's alright.  As long as he can keep it in that area, he's contributing.

His defense is a concern - no matter where he plays - but his bat may return to previous expectations

No strikeouts today, though. So that's something!

The longer the season goes and Brousseau keeps that OPS over/around .800, the harder the decisions get about who to keep up when Adames returns.  Not that it's a bad thing to have too many guys producing to have to deal with tough decisions about who to send down.

So what's the point  of having a "manager" if others help make the decisions, and what's the point of choosing a "manager" of the year. I guess the front office helps make decisions on relief pitchers coming in during the game too.

Makes you wonder how long of a leash Cain will be given.  All of the sudden the Brewers have a surplus of guys who can hit.

Urias now has a 158 wrc+ and only one more strikeout than walk. I don't want to get too excited, but he might be taking another big step forward.

 

He's finally really showing the elite contact skills he was hyped for and blending that with the power gains he made last year.

It'd look bad if they had a remote control robot or something to hand the lineup card to the umpire at the start of the game?
