I'm ok with Hiura starting against a lefty.

Tellez is probably the better option both offensively and defensively, but we also can't expect him to play every single day.

Maybe Keston will have a little more confidence against this left-hander (Liberatore), since he faced him a bit in AAA last year:

August 17, 2021:

  • Called out on strikes
  • Walked
  • Singled (line drive to CF)

September 7, 2021:

  • Called out on strikes
  • Lined out to second baseman

September 12, 2021:

  • Called out on strikes
  • Doubled (line drive to RF)
  • Lined out to right fielder

CC just won't learn, he's pretty much stuck on his agenda forever. Keston starting against LHP. Ya, maybe he needs the practice, but it sure hasn't gone very well so far. Good luck Keston!!

Why?  Pretty strong reverse splits in his career…

.200 vs LHP

.260 vs RHP

McCutchen has been a disappointment for me. OPS+ under 90, if your gonna primarily DH you have to hit the ball well.

I think we need a big time upgrade and absolutely hated the signing.

We are facing a lefty so I get why McCutchen is playing but why has he been in the lineup against every righty when he has been on the roster. For such an analytically thinking organization having McCutchen as an everyday player makes no sense.

As far as Brewers broadcasters …

I like Jeff Levering

Not a fan of Tim Dillard

I miss Brian Anderson

I’m okay with Bill Schroeder

Same. Tim Dillard is unlistenable for me personally. I don’t like incoherent rambling and nonsense when it comes to baseball. I just want you to call the game. Ueck is the exception not the rule.

If Gorman, Yepez, and Donavan can contribute to what Edman, Goldschmidt, and Arenado can be expected to do, the Cardinals are going to have a pretty formidable lineup.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

They'll still need O'Neill and Carlson to contribute in some form, which they certainly haven't thus far. And none of those guys were can't miss prospects. Only Gorman made a Top 100 list.

Yelich‘s last extra base hit was May 20th.

The odds of him ever being an MVP caliber player again are crazy long.

Yeah the "Yelich returning to MVP form" talk of a few weeks ago is long gone.

He shows flashes every now and again but it never lasts more than a few days.

.293 XBA, .536 XSLG, 96 percentile in Hard Hit %. I don't know of anyone who said unequivocally that he was back in MVP form. But there's still a good player in there.

How many of those hard hit balls are pounded grounders right into the shift on the right side of the infield. That seems to account for a high percentage of his outs.
