If McCutchen doesn't hit into a DP here, I will consider the at-bat a resounding success.

Change your mind after he whiffed on a hanging slider?

Nope. Cause now we have the bases loaded with less than two outs.

Sorry Jeff. While I love me some TT, Paul Goldschmidt would be the hottest hitter on the planet right now. He hasn't homered yet, but he did just double to give the Cardinals the lead and extend his hitting streak. Why would I not be surprised if Goldschmidt was the player and the Cardinals the team to break Joe DiMaggio's "unbreakable" 80 year record (mostly joking).

The silver lining to Renfroe’s injury is that it has given more ABs to Taylor than he might have had otherwise. So he’s now established that he should be playing almost every day until he really cools down.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Tyrone Taylor will be an interesting case study of Counsell. Counsell loves vets. Will he do the right thing when Renfroe comes back and bench a vet for Taylor?? I say nope.

Give TT consistent playing time and this is the result.  It took an injury to Renfroe to get him there and I wonder if CC has figured it out.

Taylor was already getting the majority of starts before Renfroe went down with his injury.

The predicted thunderstorms are coming in later than expected but if the game continues at this pace it won’t be over until midnight.

We have Jace Peterson. But he's not really any better than Hiura against LHP.

Per Brewers.com for LHP batting stats. Peterson is definitely better than Hiura.

Part of that was because McCutchen was out for about two, weeks and created another opening.

Taylor didn’t really start hitting until shortly before Renfroe got hurt, so who knows if he would have gotten as many ABs as he has the last two weeks.

That was due to Cutch being out. When everyone is healthy will Taylor still be starting?? To me Cutch and Cain have to be fighting for one spot.

They are both equally bad and I would rather have the RH batter going against a LH pitcher even if the stats say otherwise.  The difference between Peterson and Hiura against LHP is small.

Careerwise, no. Peterson has a .547 career OPS against LHP. Hiura's is .564.

I was only looking at 2022.
