Or he could have picked it clean and started a double play !

Agree, but could have been worse.

I disagree. Should have been turned into a DP.

I thought I saw it land in foul territory on the replay. But you're right, it's a play that should've been made regardless.

Hiura not only has an erratic arm, but it’s weak too. I thought that throw was never going to get there.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That's been (one of) the knocks on his defense since he came out of college.  He made that throw though, and we needed him to.

Absolutely , but he had it in his glove , not like he had to dive and stop it from going into the corner.

That's fair. I half think that Reyes thought it would have been called foul and gave up.

It did land foul behind the bag, but that’s not the rule. On a ground ball it’s where it is when it passes the bag. For a ball that bounces  a couple inches foul a few feet behind the bag it almost certainly passed over some part of the bag.

The idea that the Brewers can routinely call up these AAA pitchers who only give up 1 run in five innings makes my head hurt.

It makes my heart sing.

I know the options are limited these days but Milner pitching in a tight game does not inspire confidence.

Makes everything groovy, right?

2.82 ERA on the year now. He's been good in some pretty big spots lately. That spot in the Phillies order was also tailor-made for him.

Worked out.

I know he got out there, but Yelich is becoming something of a reverse split guy these days.

Milner's been good, the metrics and data says he's been pretty good, and he faced the bottom of the order tonight.  Not sure what else he's supposed to do except never pitch.  CC can't just use Williams, Hader, and Box.
