Well that is the game unless Reyes walks.

Reyes was thinking the same thing.

Save us, Willy!  Don't tell them if you get 7 hours and 59 minutes of sleep tonight or they'll have to wait it out another day as a precaution.

No crap man. There’s being cautious, then there’s being over cautious then 100 miles down the road there is the Brewers.

We need Adames back for sure but make no mistake this is not and will not be a good enough offense without a big time acquisition if not two.

Pablo Reyes is just not going to cut it. He needs to go back to the minors or the bench where he belongs.

He's a classic AAAA player who gets far too many at bats every time he is up with the big club. How is there no one else that's available to at least take a few at bats from him. Good grief.

He’s not a big league player in any sense. Noncompetitive at bats, doesn’t field the ball spectacularly, this is the best we can find for 3 years now?

This is one of the least fun seasons I can remember in the last 10 years or so. This team has a good record yet I’m not enjoying the quality of baseball. Anyone else feel this way?

I was having fun until the end of the doubleheader last week. But the last few days have been excruciatingly painful. Thank god we got out to the fastest start in franchise history.

Tomorrow is going to be tough, too, with Aaron Nola on the mound. Hopefully, Houser doesn't have one of his blowup starts.

Brewers have gotten to Aaron Nola in recent times...

The Cardinals lost players and then all of a sudden promoted two guys including Donovan and Yepez who are bashing the ball as well as the kid Gormon. who is a stud. Meanwhile the Crew settle for Pablo and I guess Mathias?? to fill in and give the offense a boost. As a small market club it is insane how bad the Brewers are in terms of everyday player who can come up and help. Who is the last everyday player home grown Prince?? Thank God they develop pitching because the bats are not happening.

I don't want to pile on Reyes for being put into situations he isn't designed to be put in. If not for us imitating a MASH unit w/regards to our infielders he isn't hitting in the ninth. Of course, Knebel walks the bags loaded then suddenly finds the plate. If he didn't take the first pitch it would've been the height of irresponsibility. Of course, strike one, immediate hole.

Now if you want to rail on the decision to not go to Turang when Adames went down, that's legit.

If Adames, Urias, Renfroe, and Narvaez are all playing, and playing up to expectations, the offense is back to top quarter of MLB. Of course, it would always be great to add another bat.

Orlando Arica was an everyday player ?

Top quarter of MLB is pretty generous if it’s just those 4 playing to expectations without major improvements at LF, CF, and DH.

Don't worry, if somehow they get on base then Hunter Renfroe, with his 0.546 OPS with runners on will surely knock them in.

Yelich and McCutcheon were 4 for 6 last night.  Renfroe came in with an 0-4 with 4 LOB.  And the beat goes on...

Can't wait until he regresses to the mean.  Maybe if he waits until October then we'll have 1 out of the 3 hot hitters needed during the postseason.

Why in the Sam Hill wasn't Adames activated and in there last night? If he's good to go, play him!

Same reason we could not pitch Hader in the 10th inning on Sunday ... overlooking the present for the future ... the future will be too late if we don't deal with the present, though, IMHO.

maybe you didn't see the stats earlier in the season.  They're still 10th in MLB in runs scored and 3rd in HR.

I have seen all of the stats, including the 55 runs they scored in 6 games against the Reds, 49 runs in 10 games against the Cubs, and 33 runs in 6 games against the Pirates. That's 6.2 runs per game in 22 games against those 3 teams. In 35 games against other opponents the Brewers have averaged 3.2 runs per game.

I also saw the FanGraphs preseason projections which had the Brewers 20th in MLB in runs scored, and that was with Yelich having a projected OPS over .800. So, even if everyone in the lineup performs up to realistic expectations, I wouldn't expect them to be top quarter.

When I look at the current statistics for runs scored, I focus on runs scored per game, not total runs scored, for reasons that should be apparent. By that measure the Brewers are 16th in MLB and 11th in the NL. Being tied for 1st in the NL in HR while being 11th in runs per game says something about the offense being highly dependent on HR, which isn't necessarily a good thing.

The Brewers have a ways to go to be a top quarter offensive team.
