While Yelich has a noodle arm no one was going to throw out anyone as that ball was hit deep enough to score on every LF or RF in MLB.  The only way your throwing someone out that deep into the OF is if the runner trips and falls down and tries to crawl to home plate half way there.

Yeah, even if that ball was hit to right field, Renfroe wasn't throwing the runner out from that distance.

Houser should know where his defense is positioned and stop trying to field everything. That's how the Mets got two extra runs last inning.

I thought that too , but I'm sure his first reaction is to field the ball. Between falling down fielding a ball . Navarez  letting a ball getting away and letting a guy advance and the ball deflection , just not a good start! Will end up being a bullpen game . so much for the day off .

Same thing happened last year with Taylor.  4th outfielder/350 at bat guy who plays every other day = good player.  When he gets starts and pitchers see him more and he gets matchups that aren't great, the results are ugly.

The Mets are just playing the game the right way this season ... very fundamental approach to the game of baseball ... very refreshing to see IF it wasn't against the Brewers!

Mets lead all of MLB with a payroll of $260,229,227.

Brewers are 19th in the MLB at $132,738,405.

Things like this make a difference, no doubt, more often than not.

Go Brewers!

There is just nothing exciting about this team right now or the last month or so.

We need Bernie Brewer on the field doing antics like the San Diego Chicken and Phillie Phanatic ... Bernie Brewer is hidden too far away up in that little chalet above the homerun slide!

You are right, but I commented negatively about him on that play anyway because Im petty and he gets paid too much to hit like this and I want to pile on.

Is there a coach out there that coaches hitting the way the Brewers coach catcher defense?  If so I want that guy, you know when we get to the discussion of replacing the hitting coach.

Remember when our starters could shutdown everyone and we could play defense?
