As usual, the opponent has announced their lineup BEFORE the Brewers announce their lineup on game day.

Maybe, CC just needs to stick to a consistent starting lineup -- since all this game day deliberating and  tinkering with the lineup is not working too well.

Ideally, we should increase our payroll by about 100 million and get some stars in this lineup like the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, etc. do!

And to think that, several weeks before the move, there were posters suggesting that, instead of moving Yelich down from the three spot to the bottom of the order (or benching him), that they try him at leadoff.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Keston Hiura at 2B tonight....Urias' thumb still has to be hurting. It would explain a lot with his recent performance.

By "recent" do you mean the last 6 weeks?

After missing the first few weeks of the season, Urias came out smoking in his first 7 games (5 against the Reds and 2 against the Reds) and posted an OPS of 1.067.

In 30 games since then he has posted an OPS of .568. For the rest of May his OPS was .649 and so far in June it has been .406. So, it has been a steady plunge.

If his thumb has been bothering him that long, it's hard to see how it's going to get better by playing him every day and plugging him in the cleanup spot.

I mean, even good hitters have their slumps. But they are then able to pick it back up with hot streaks. It's quite possible that the reason Urias hasn't been able to pick it back up and has instead continued his "steady plunge", particularly over the last few weeks, is the thumb. And maybe they'd rather Urias play even with the bad thumb while our other starting infielders like Adames and Wong have been intermittently unavailable.

So the Brewers have a roster full of good hitters?

Is this the series the Brewers win to get out of the funk?  I think it is.

A guy who throws this hard might be hard to see and hit with early evening lighting.

Also, I certainly don't want to put the whammy on Lauer here, but he's looked great through 2.  Locating off speed pitches for strikes and really keeping the Reds guessing.  Here's hoping he keeps it up.

I'm sorry, but I'm sic k & tired of watching Hiura strike out. That last ball he swung at was a few inches off the plate.

It could be that he wants to stay away from Moose at 1st base!  He might think Moose is bitter with him for taking away his 2nd baseman job with the Brewers!

Maybe Rickie Weeks can still play 2nd base?
