Brosseau and Caratini are the only two guys aside from Hiura who have an OPS over .800 on the entire roster. Whatever they've been doing lately hasn't been working since the 19 run game, so trying something different can't hurt. I'll give you that Hiura probably shouldn't be hitting cleanup vs a lefty, but this honestly isn't a terrible lineup today, given the state of the offense lately.

This is kinda what you get when there's two OF's still on the IL, and your actual prospects who are OF's are deemed not ready yet (and probably aren't). I'd actually think of leading off Brosseau, but other than that this is almost name-out-of-a-hat time vs a lefty starter.

Maybe he can do that in the third inning if he’s still in.

Over 50 pitches to get through 2 means it will be a long day for the bullpen.

It is wild that a first place team in any situation is playing Hiura and Davis together in the outfield. It is truly an indictment of the organization. They have drafted a ton of outfielders over the past 6 years including a top five pick. Not much besides Taylor to show for it.

Does BA really believe that Hiura crushed lefties as a rookie? Something about a .673 OPS versus lefties and 1.021 versus righties would say otherwise.

We need to trade for Quintana.  Its At least a two game swing since I’m sure the cardinals will get him otherwise and throw him out there once a series against the crew.
