Yeah.   Who knows anymore.    This team really can’t rely on anything except for burnes and it’s not like they win 90% of those games either

it might get ugly for this team     I wonder if hader lost a bunch of trade value

this is the first time is advocate for this since I was hoping this was going to be a good season      It might be a good idea to trade hader if we can get a bunch of value for him

This is still a good team. Every team has ugly points to their season. I feel like more should realize this.

The team is very mediocre and is only in contention because St Louis is just as mediocre and the rest of the division is also rans.

They put up 5 last night. Should have been more than enough.

That was the last inning I saw before going to bed. It took some help from the Giants defense to get those runs.

I was looking at something today that I think says something about how the Brewers offense puts pressure on the pitching staff. The Brewers lead the NL with 35 saves, so they’ve only won 15 games without a save. Those are either walkoff wins, or games with no save situation because of having a large enough lead late in the game.

I looked at the other NL playoff contenders and the Brewers 15 no save wins are by far the lowest. For comparison, the Dodgers have 33, the Mets 31, Cardinals 27, Giants 26, Phillies 25, Braves 22, and Padres 21.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

LOL

I've never seen someone who posts so much consistently hate the team they are posting about.

It is not true that every team has a stretch of over 2 months playing under .500.

This tells me they are getting wins exactly as designed. They are a team built on the strength of their pitching.

The teams seem to be warming up for a quick getaway game tomorrow so they can head off for their break.

I don’t think they are as good as you have been portraying.    Was there or is there potential.   Yeah.    But sometimes it just doesn’t come off

the season isn’t done yet but I wouldn’t bet any hard earned money on it now.  Something is not right with the 2022 brewers

and yes all teams go through ugly patches   They all go through good patches too   I feel like more should realize this too

we will see where they are at In September

That we most definitely will. A lot can happen between now and then too.

This is definitely a flawed team. No doubt about it. I think the next couple weeks leading up to the trade deadline will be quite telling as to where things are headed this year. But had you told me back in Spring Training that the Brewers would be narrowly leading the division going into the All Star Break, I would have said "Yep, that sounds about right." Nothing has really happened that would be considered surprising concerning the Brewers. They were expected to be at the top of the division and be a playoff contender, and that's exactly what they currently are, despite their warts.

It also tells me that that formula can’t hold up when the pitching drops off as it has this season.

Last year the Brewers had the good fortune of not having significant injuries to the pitching staff so they only had a small handful of games started by anyone other than their 6 regular starters, and all of those starters were between outstanding and effective. They also had better offense for parts of the season and were able to win 51 games without saves, giving the back end of the bullpen some breathers.

This is the first year that I’ve actually had expectations for the brewers to be division winners.   All the other years have been pleasant surprises.   I saw the potential in this team before the year

but there is a feeling I my stomach that it’s not right.   What you are saying is the formula for winning has been underperforming.   So they need to find something else.    Over the long haul it’s not going to be enough.

so we are relying on the unknown if trade deadline deals.   Stearns has earned the right to feel optimistic about that.  So let’s hope

and add the fact that counsel has been terrible this year    And I’m a huge counsel fan

Nice that we can have these expectations.  All those years of just hoping to not be last--hopefully those days don't come back for a long time.

Team isn’t fun to watch right now……just finding ways to lose games.

Hopefully we find a way to score but man runs have been hard to come by…..especially when the Giants don’t help out.

How many times tonight have we heard “grounded into the shift”?

Its time to move Urias to second and let Jace and Brosseau platoon at third.

Gosh I'd love to see them deal for a solid, controllable 3B before the deadline. I agree that Urias is likely this team's 2B of the future. He's fine defensively at 3B, but his production would be all that much more valuable at 2B.
