Why not bat a lefty in place of Cutch?

Righties are hitting .109 against Bard

three options with power on the bench

Would have been nice to see Bard forced to throw strikes to Tellez with 2-on, nobody out. Changed everything by allowing him to face two righties.

This is where having 3 catchers hurt you, because the Brewers don't have any infielders left on the bench to be able to pinch hit Caratini or Narvaez.

Robots can't drive in runs, but they can prevent the complexion of the at-bat from being changed by a bad strike one call. Still, Urias did a good job going the other way down 0-2. Just didn't happen.

Take 3 of 4, all good. Frustrating to watch another lefty dominate the offense, but picking up 1.5 on the Cards while they played the Reds is good, to say nothing of the ground gained on PhIlly and SF.

Two tough ones coming before the off day, but the pen should be pretty rested, especially Williams.

Whatever happened tonight it was nice little step forward to win a series for once

A three game lead would have been nice though.   That always seems like a decent cushion.    But so be it

Somehow it didn’t work out that way. My oh my how could that have happened. Wow!!!

It was pretty much the best you could do on that pitch down 0-2 in the count. But that's baseball.

Yelich was a fine example of a professional baseball player in the 9th inning. He fought off 99mph heat and hit an opposite-field flare to get on base. Then he got the attention of the pitcher and drew a throw. Then he booked it toward 2nd on a ground ball, and the 2B committed an error because he knew he had to hurry it to get Yelich out. Then he drew a throw behind him on a fly ball to CF, and advanced to third.

If our other players had been so professional, we might have scored a run or two.

Yelich for next manager of the Brewers. Ideally while he's still under contract as a player so we won't have to pay him $30M to play.
