I feel like if this game is 4 or less runs, the brewers might win. If it's more than 4 we're probably screwed. Gonsolin is incredible and shuts down most offenses. I know some on here consider it a colossal failure if we don't put up 10 runs on everyone, but temper expectations. Let's hope lauer can put up zeroes and keep it close...

He said we knew we were down a run there. He said Craig Kimbrel is a tough pitcher. He said he was trying to move the runner over. He said he took a gamble. He said he was taking advantage of what he was given.  He said he was glad it paid off.

Strikeout King...

To bad he didn't ground out instead.

Why is it hard to understand that putting the ball in play is much better than striking out. One at least has a chance of turning into something whereas the other has no chance at all.

Oh I get it completely. A grounder to 3rd puts pressure on the defense. Hiura's team leading OPS means nothing if he can't advance the imaginary runner.

Why even watch if you're gonna be this pessimistic?

I’ll be realistic until they prove me otherwise, and I’ll keep watching until they do so.

*Team leading OPS in a much smaller sample size.

A perfect game with a run given up in the 10th would still count as a perfect game? Just playing out weird scenarios in my head.

I really hope that rule ends after this season. Takes away from the game imo.

In case that .275 OBP from Taylor doesn't inspire you, Frelick is 3-3 with a walk again tonight.

Wish one of our esteemed beat reporters would directly question Stearns about this. Fans are already upset, whether justified or not, about what occurred at the deadline. Meanwhile, you have teams like the Braves, Mets, and Cardinals calling their prospects up and playing significant roles.

My girlfriend is watching something scary and I have an earbud in watching the game on my computer and I yelled, "oh my God!" and she freaked out.

Mets also called up their #2 prospect yesterday after six games spent in AAA.  Jacked a 2-run shot on his first MLB swing.

That might be the greatest dp I've ever seen. That's how you beat the Dodgers right there.

Plays like this are where the focus on defense is so huge. Who knows how many runs and/or how many extra pitches lauer has to throw if they get just one or possibly zero outs if those guys don't play it so well...

That double play was what I expect of Wong. Fun to see.

i do think we would be better off with Frelick in CF … would deliver a spark like Michael Harris has with the Braves (and he came from AA)

Two leadoff walks. This game is likely over already.

Is this a record?  Two batters in and 0-0 and the game is over?

Yep. This offense needs hitters. Frelick is a hitter.

I don't know but I'm calling perfect game with one out in the 4th.
